I’m writing this with just under three hours left of America-I-Can-Be-Proud-Of. I don’t think we’re coming back from this one. This is a complete abandonment of everything I hoped America was. But the word I keep coming back to is “animals.” Americans are fucking ANIMALS.

Anyway, we did this once before, and what I really couldn’t stand was the flip-flopping on MAGA allies. Mike Pence was cool, and then all of a sudden you wanted to hang him, for example. Or Bill Barr is a tough AG, until he said there was no election fraud, now he can’t be trusted.

I want some declarations, to keep the receipts for later. Are the following people in Trump’s orbit good or bad, final answer must be made TODAY, because you all talk SO fucking confidently about everyone, and then turn on a dime because Daddy Trump said so.

Now, this may shake out differently because last time around Trump was selecting somewhat qualified people who eventually stood up to him, and THEN, all of a sudden, they were huge mistakes and you knew it all along🙄 All those generals, one after another, lmao. Trump is a wildly unserious person, so when an adult walks into the room and says “No, that would be idiotic to do”, Trump can’t handle it and fires them, and then smears them to make it seem like THEY were the problem.

This time he’s skipping the “legitimate qualifications” thing and going straight to loyalists who won’t try to be the adult in the room, so I don’t know if there will be as many firings. But I regretted not doing this last time, so let’s see who has the balls to tell us who they don’t trust AHEAD OF TIME.

Here’s the bottom line with freedom of speech: you CAN say what you want. It doesn’t mean there can’t and won’t be social consequences, it just means you won’t get locked up or get your head lopped off by the government. If someone kicks you out of their party or you get fired by your employer, that’s all fair game. Actions have consequences, that will never change in life. If you want the freedom to say racial slurs, you’ve got it. As long as it’s not done in a relentless harassing fashion, I don’t think you’d be arrested or anything. But if you say it to the wrong person, you might get the brakes beat off of you. And maybe they’d get arrested. But you’d still face consequences.
That’s the social contract. Humans will never, EVER just unemotionally absorb egregiously disrespectful speech or actions in society, nor should they ever be expected to. So backlash is to be expected, and they’ll face their own brand of accountability, but that’s the cycle. And the whole thing can be avoided by being respectful. Disrespectful speech and actions are wholly unproductive, so there’s no reason to bend over backwards to allow it.

As for the "divine being" part, it is far less complicated than You want to make it. You see... I probably should not boast about it, since boasting takes away most of the good in these deeds, but just to make a point, whenever I see someone in need and actually have any cash on me, I pretty much give it away in a fashion that many would call me crazy for. These are not some big sums, since I do not really have what can be called big sums at my disposal, but I do not hold back from supporting others. It is just... I want it to be personal. I meet a person in the streets, they tell me their story, I decide to support them (or not, but that only usually happens if I have no or ridiculously little cash on me). Simple as that. I do not want to be forced by the state to pay just about any random person, potentially a vicious criminal (though I have had people peacefully coming up to me claiming they are just out of prison and still receiving help). I want the decision to be mine and mine alone. And whenever the state makes me pay for just random people I have never met, it is indeed forced on me and it is this exact fact that I do not like.

As for the last part of Your comment, I absolutely agree that the society should and in most cases will make one face the consequences of their behaviour. The problem is, unless we are dealing with serious crimes like murder or robbery (and even in some cases of robbery), it should be the society and society alone that reacts to each individual human's behaviour. Whenever the state forced any kind of behaviour, it both takes away individual freedom and degrades individual responsibility for one's actions.

Well, the thing is that we’ve never had a criminal lunatic like Trump before. I have plenty of gripes about Biden and Democrats (I’m not one, by the way), but all of it pales in comparison to the type of concerns I have about Trump and the MAGA agenda. I didn’t post like this about Biden, or Obama, wouldn’t have posted about Bush Jr, wouldn’t have posted about Clinton (except Lewinsky, lmao), not Bush Sr, MAYBE Reagan, if I had been old enough to recognize his bullshit…. but I typically respond to others’ political questions, I post very few of my own. I don’t post all that many questions, PERIOD.

I never really got into politics too deep UNTIL Trump, because his whole political career has been so absurd and so potentially damaging to our country that I was like “oh shit…I’d better keep an eye on this and protect my country from this guy.” Like this is unlike anything I’ve ever seen, and it’s scarily endorsed by so many Americans, so my greater concern is just about what the fuck is wrong with our collective character that we would even CONSIDER Donald Trump, especially this past time.

Trump is just a symptom of something very, very wrong with our citizenry. Like I’m ASTOUNDED that people could hear what this guy says, not be disgusted by the bad stuff, not laugh at his half-cooked ideas that he presents as “good stuff”, and how anyone who is a woman or cares about one is cool with a guy who has been found civilly liable for digitally raping a woman, was cheating on his wife when she was home with their newborn, you’d have to be naive to think that’s his only marital indiscretion, SAID HE WOULD DATE HIS OWN DAUGHTER IF THEY WEREN’T RELATED, told a TEN YEAR OLD GIRL that “he’d be dating her in ten years”, was hanging around CHILD beauty pageant dressing rooms…. I’m not into corporate Democrats like Biden or Harris. It’s funny as hell that you guys call them “radical left”, these people are moderates. Kamala even moved more towards the center for this campaign. So it makes MAGA seem that much MORE crazy. There’s not a single socialist in American politics, only a handful of “Social Democrats” (Bernie Sanders, AOC, etc), which is a far cry from being an actual Socialist, so it’s hard not to laugh when your people are frantically screaming that normal ass people are out here trying to flip America on its head. And then you guys DO try to flip the country on its head and claim it’ll “Make America Great”…. like, WHAT, dude? Are we living on the same Earth?

Bottom line is time is always moving, things are always changing, and you have to adapt. Trying to keep things like they were 50, 100, 250 years ago…. never gonna fly. Historically, conservatives have had to be dragged kicking and screaming into the future by liberals. Back when the Democrats were the Conservatives and Republicans were the liberals, conservatives wanted to keep slavery potentially legal at the state level. Who do we feel like was right in hindsight? Civil Rights Act…. basically around the time the Dems went liberal and the Republicans went conservative…who was right in hindsight? Conservatives aim to hold certain people (usually ones already walking uphill in American society) down and repress them, whether that’s socially, economically, politically, or sexually. I have a very, VERY hard time trying to rationalize any of that as “a good thing” or “being right.” I mean, how could that even be an honest conversation?

But the last thing I’ll say is that Biden…. I’d give him like a B/B-minus for his four years. One of the biggest misconceptions going today is that the American economy is bad. This is simply not true by almost every reasonable metric. Trump, despite what he tells you so you’ll manage your expectations of him, is inheriting a pretty strong economic situation. Everything is up and trending in the right direction. Has been for a good while. Gas prices and your grocery bill are independent of that. That’s a different animal, that’s you getting screwed by greedy businesses, plus we’re coming off serious supply chain interruptions from the pandemic.

We’ve had inflationary periods before, and one thing I remember…. prices never came back down. They get you used to paying it, and that’s that. These corporations are not going to let one shiny nickel roll out the door, believe that. Most of the supply chain issues are rectified now, yet I’m still paying more or getting “shrink-flation” amounts of product. Biden didn’t do that, Bird’s Eye Frozen Vegetables, most notably in my case, are the ones doing that, whichever of the Big 11 mega corporations own the Bird’s Eye brand.

That’s not Joe Biden’s fault, and as of Monday, it’s not Trump’s fault either. It is what it is. What I DO know is that Walmart’s CEO, who runs where I usually buy said product, has already said they have to raise prices if Trump imposes tariffs as planned, which he is.

Funny how Trump was supported by Walmart’s CEO, and Trump was talking about tariffs for what? Six months? A year? Do you think Walmart waited until AFTER the election, these people who “business is their business”, to sit down and crunch those numbers? Or do you think they know that they’re part of “The Big Club” that you and I aren’t in, and that Trump will pass policy to help THEM (lower taxes, fewer regulations = more net income), and then can say AFTER we’ve all voted, “hey, don’t shoot the messengers, guys, but…we JUST ran the numbers, post-election, and actually the guy we backed for President is gonna do stuff that’s gonna hit you, not us, in the wallet. Oopsiiieeeee…🤷‍♂️”

And remember the Walmart CEO bragged last year about her new $80M yacht or some absurd shit like that, and then wants to tell YOU, Working Joe/Jane, that you’ll have to eat the cost because, what? You think they’re gonna sell the yacht and keep your prices low? PLEASE think about that, even though it’s too late now. Best Buy CEO said the same thing, AFTER the election.

Anyway, that’s enough out of me. But the point is Biden and the Democrats never did anything that I’d consider even close to morally egregious on a human rights level, whereas that’s maybe the number one concern I have about the entire MAGA agenda. Anything Biden screwed up was in foreign affairs.

Afghanistan withdrawal was poorly executed, but I don’t think it could’ve been well-executed by anyone. I’m sorry for the 13 servicemen/women who died and their families, but with the utmost respect, when you sign up for the military, that’s all part of the potential deal. Also, there’s no way to predict or control a suicide bomber at an airport. Many more non-Americans were killed, but I don’t hear cries for them, because Americans are animals who don’t care about foreigners, especially brown ones. The equipment left behind was technologically old enough to not be a risk for enemy confiscation and study. It was a war we never should have been in in the first place, and Bush, Obama, and Trump all fumbled on shutting down the operation. Good on Biden for getting it done, and I’ll give some credit to Trump because I believe he planned to withdraw.

It’s impossible to prove a negative so it’s foolish to sit here and claim the wars that didn’t start when Trump was in office (not even involving America) didn’t start BECAUSE of Trump. Remember the love affair with Trump is only right wing Americans and right wing dictators in countries we’d hate to live in. Everyone else thinks he’s a buffoon. They’re mostly forced to button up and play ball because they need America, but none of that respect is Trump-based, not in decent Western countries, anyway. This is real life, not the movies, so talking big and swinging your dick around is a terrible way to approach geopolitics and international diplomacy. Trump thinks he’s a mob boss and that it’s good policy to walk into rooms pounding tables and laying threats, but again…. this is REALITY. That’s an ABSURD way for any politician to carry themselves.

We can talk about that. That’s one of the things I downgrade Biden for. That was dumb. But he and Mike Pence VOLUNTEERED their classified documents back. Trump is the only one who threw a tantrum and said “NO! They’re MINE!”, and they had to ask several times for him to return them. You simply can’t compare Trump to the other two. All guilty of mishandling, but only one was defiant about it. It’s the attitude more than the offense itself.

But I wrote ALL those points and critiques, and you didn’t address any of it, you just tried to hit me with some kind of “gotcha” video on a topic we never even got into, to denigrate a politician I’m not even gung-ho about, or even a member of his political party. He’s just simply less egregiously bad than Trump.
