An East Texas business is making headlines after refusing to repair two World War II-era Hitler Youth knives. The shop owner took issue, not just with the knives themselves, but with the specific repair request — leading to a firm refusal caught on camera.

Johnathan Sibley, co-owner of the Blade Bar in Edom, has had quite the career as a bladesmith -- even appearing on the fifth season of "Forged in Fire." But it’s a brief interaction with two customers that is putting him in a different kind of spotlight.

His refusal to work on a pair of Hitler Youth knives brought in by two customers has wracked up over 300,000 views on TikTok and has garnered praise all over the Internet.
"I will de-Nazisify shit but I won’t re-Nazisify shit," Sibley could be heard saying in the viral video.

Yeah this is just based af. everyone should do as this man did here. this is actually another lesson we can learn from Timothy Snyders 'On Tyranny' for how to resist authoritarianism.

Basically do not allow fascism to spread its tentacles around, pushback against its symbols and advocate for freedom and democracy always. Never allow swastika's or other fascist signs become 'normal,' let them always fill you with disgust and make you want to cover them up or remove them.

Here is the issue... I think its similar. There was a fuss about a baker who refused to bake a wedding cake (I think) for a gay couple. Is this similar? Can you refuse to do work based upon beliefs? Is this discrimination? I think in this case he is justified. Nazi memorabilia has nothing to do with sexual orientation or religions... it has to do with hatred and fascism. These concepts are not protected by any free speech, religion or human rights. So kudos to this guy. Well done.

I'm glad to hear that.. but everyday it seems like we literally forgotten that the United States along with its allies fought to defeat Nazi Germany not to support Nazis. Defeat them. 1945 isn't even that long ago. Its like now america is confused on what it even is. But luckily we still have a few people around who understand what America has always been. And those same people are loyal to the constitution not to one person but all American's best interest and safety and supports America's allies.

That is his option. But just because someone has memorabilia from that period doesn't mean they support Nazi's. I have a coin from 1937 with a swastika on it; I'm not going to discard it because Nazi's are bad.

you can say that but you should know that there is a largely growing sympathetic fervor surrounding far right in our country and even the world right now so the chances of 'is she a nazi sympathizer' have gone up drastically. i still applaud this move and think more should follow in his footsteps.

hmm i'd have issues with restoring confederate memorabilia. i think talking with the person first would be something they should do. like are they just historians looking to preserve a piece of history or are they sympathetic lost causers looking to bring back the 'glory days' where whites owned black slaves? if its the latter i would hope most people would refuse to work on that.
