I’m not asking if you think he should be released.
I am asking how likely do you think it is he will ever be released.
He has been in prison for over 40 years. That’s a long time.

I don't think he'll be released.
He's still a bit bonkers. Besides, he gets conjugal visits with his wife although, at almost 70, that probably doesn't amount to much. Yoko sent a letter to the Parole Board in 2000 (his first year of eligibility) requesting Chapman serve out his life term. She is in her 90s now, but, as long as she is alive, I suspect they will honor her wishes. She's suffered enough (her daughter was taken from her at age 7 and not seen again until age 30). I don't think Chapman will get out ever.
He killed one of the Beatles. He should rot in prison.
Never. "He's been in prison for more than 40 years. That's a long time," but it pales in comparison to John Lennon's death sentence at the age of 40. Rest in peace, John.
