Funny enough, I was going to hate on this a bit saying “oh come on, we aren’t going to compare a Chinese government planned attack known as the, ‘Tiananmen Square Massacre’ to Donald Trump’s Oligarchy?

Though when I looked closer upon the image, the man is holding grocery bags to symbolize the 3% inflation rise compared to last year and the 0.3% inflation rise compared to last month and standing against the oppression of Trump’s billionaire lobbyists over the needs of the Average Joe & Jill.

I respect the political piece, really spoke to me about the current State of The Union…. Wished people opened their eyes.

Maybe you should stop demonizing powerless scapegoats and instead deal with people who actualy have power?

Musk does not make anyone you buy his cars, rockets, or use his twitter.

Musk has no power in the U. S. Government only Trump does.

Musk like everyone else can make recommendation and Trump has hired him to go thou existing agencies and make recommendations as many presidents in the past have done before.

It is Trump who is choosing to act on said recommendations, not Musk must is simply indemnifying them for trump as other have in the past.

Other presidents have largely ignored such recommendations or left them to congress who likewise ignored them.

Trump not Musk is taking the new step of using executive power to act on them.

So protest Musk all you want, it makes no difference because Musk isn't doing anything new.

Musk has the funds to hand pick all 100 senators and 435 house representatives.

Honestly what's left in the world to buy?

What's new is the wealth gap in the information age.

Musk is doing much "new" and overstepping a lot of legal boundaries AKA doing illegal shit. He SHOULD NOT have the authority and access that he does. He just took it anyway and did it without legal right. That is sort of the problem.

@Syntosi If a president can't look into what his own executive branch is doing he is not the president. It is that simple.

Trump MUST have the power to see everything the Government does, and therefore can delegate it to whom ever he chooses. The president after all is the keeper of secretes.

      @Syntosi
1: Congress controls what the goverment is allowed to do via the purse strings.
2: The executive then controls what the Government Actually does within those bounds.
3: The judicatory controls what the goverment gets away with doing to people.

Joe Biden was not fit to be president so his underlings did a lot of stuff in his name. Congress in the last 200 years due to never repealing anything and assuming far too many powers has basically given up their role by writing effectively blank checks to the executive and judiciary.

If congress wants to be meaningful they need to give up most of the powers of the federal goverment and expire every law after 2-4 years thus subjecting it to review of a congress which actually has time to debate its application and details.

I see that I need to make a few things very clear here. Neither the presidency nor the judiciary is "sovereign" in USA, that is explicitly reserved for the congress. The constitution tries to split up the government into 3 major branches to divide power and responsibilities as a way to inhibit anyone turning it into tyranny but that does not mean that they are actually co-equal.

Congress is still sovereign. It is Congress and ONLY Congress that is allowed to drive the nation forward and enact real changes to it. The president is there as a figurehead with some additional responsibilities and the Judiciary is simply just interpreting and enact laws. Both of them are just cogs inside a machine that is supposed to follow the script. Trump broke this.

@Syntosi Actually its the people who are Sovereign and their states, as America is about popular Sovereignty.

In the 3 branch system Congress is suppose to be the most powerful and important but that power only matters when congress doesn't write blank checks and is united enough on the issue for a 2/3rd vote. Unfortunate after 200 years congress has voted away without expiration soo much of its power and money as to largely abdicate its power.

It is not merely a constitutional fact, but a practical reality that if you want to restore Congress to its constitutional role it has to drop 90% of what the federal goverment is currently doing.

There simply is no way for congress to watch over much less debate soo many federal issues as to make and agree upon policy. Which is why rather than returning the issue to the state's as the Constitution was designed to do the they have they ceded it to the power of the executive.

So don't complain when the same executive does something you don't like or simply ignores the issue leaving it to unaccountable bureaucrats to spend most of your money and forcefully make most of your choices.

The only real alternative was to abolish that power in the Federal goverment all together.

No the people are not sovereign. USA is a REPRESENTATIVE democracy which means that the people elect their representatives to wield power in their interest.

And no, the sovereignty of Congress is not predicated on them not writing "blank checks" or whatever, that is just stupid political talking-points. Congress can do pretty much whatever they want and they do not need to justify themselves to you like that.

@Syntosi Once again, America is not a parlemtnary system but a congressional system.
Congress not only is limited by the Constitutions in terms of what laws they can make, but by the other 2 branches and the states.

      To enforce said limits:
1: The president Can veto, any bill, pardon anyone convicted of violating any law and simply fail or refuse to act on said bill.

2: The court can in practice refuse to convict accused of violating any law thus nullifying the law.

If 2/3rds of congress were to all agree they could in theory overwrite any Veto and impeach any president or judge who refuses to agree with them.

That however would not make them above the states

3: States who have all the real domestic forces and maintain their own armies can actively resist any law of congress.

Theses actual options of power under the constitution exist to allow the other parties to enforce the same constitution. They don't work as well as they were sold to, but they do work to some degree in stark contrast with the absolute power of parliamentary systems.

So what you are basically saying is that Congress has all the power. They have the power to rewrite the constitution, they have the power to pass and change any laws, they have the power to override the president and they have the power to make the states bow.

The president can bitch and whine but it is not the first time that Congress has reduced their power.

The courts can choose to not enforce the law but they can only enforce the laws that congress has passed.

The states can throw a hissyfit if they want but they have no systemic power to overrule Congress within the democratic framework and would have to use "illegal means" such as a civil war.

In other words, Congress is sovereign.

So far, Musk has killed people by bringing USAID to a total halt, incidentally wasting millions of dollars in food aid and cutting US farmers off from funds. He's fired people responsible for the nuclear weapons arsenal (without ensuring that he had contact details for them), and now the FAA is in the crosshairs, days after one of the worst disasters in recent US history.

@Syntosi 2/3rds of congress via their power to overwrite votes, pick president After VP, and impeach officials of the other 2 branch's could use such power to bypass the constitution by simply removing any president or judge that doesn't do whatever they want to do until they have one that will.

This would make the Federal constitution unenforceable by the Federal Government and put them at odds with the States who could still resist and might even win if the Feds don't start with a larger standing army.

In reality however a political faction that could get 2/3rds of congress would also likely get the presidency and most of the states so that faction would effectively be without accountability to the constitution were they to use such power. Thus making them not unlike a parliament in power.

This power however doesn't make them sovereign as they be illegitimate in their abuse of power and provided they didn't do away with elections still answer to the people and their states.

Your argument is pretty weak since by the same logic a King would not be sovereign in a feudal society because the nobles could in theory rise up against him at any time and depose the king. The way that you suggest that states could use their power against the federal government is not sanctioned by the system or constitution, it is not part of the framework and therefore more of a coup or civil war than a function of governance.

AKA it has nothing to do with being sovereign.

The fact that the feudal lords (whom the king nominally appointed) or states (elected by people) can overthrow the king or federal goverment has nothing to do with popular Sovereignty. @Syntosi Sovereignty is th idea of who has the ligitiamte right to rule.

A king in a monarchies is said to be sovereign because their system recognizes the King as being of divide right to rule.

In popular Sovereignty we believe the right to rule starts with the people.

I guess you don't share my opinion that giving your word to do something obligates you to actually do it.

A reasonable approach to ending USAID food supplies would have been to continue to deliver what was already under way, giving time for others to try to take up the slack, rather than let it rot on ships in harbours around the world.

What do you think all those countries around the world will think of China or Russia, if they bring life-saving supplies the US couldn't be bothered?

Did you think I'd not look it up? Where does it say anything about "the use of lethal force against protestors"?

Biden did not try "to use the DoJ to go after Trump", in fact the AG was, in my opinion, negligent in not investigating the crimes of Jan 6 instigators until after Congress started the ball rolling. The only reason Trump got away with his crimes was by delaying the trials until it was too late, with the assistance of his pet judges. Nobody even claimed he didn't have those government documents or didn't lie about the election.

Trump committed numerous crimes, one of the reasons he was not convicted on his second impeachment was because the criminal justice system should deal with them (that, and senators were scared of Trump supporters).

Trump's distancing from his businesses was a joke and allowed foreign governments to funnel money to him.

@goaded you guys had four years to get that done but instead you guys did nothing but fuck around and wasted everyone's time with "hearings," civil cases and a criminal case for a crime that it turned out didn't even happen but he got charged with it and was upgraded from a fine to a felony because the left gets that much of a hard on at the thought of Trump going to prison, only for him to get reelected before that happened.

It was such a waste of time.

Oh? The senators are afraid of Trump supporters? Good. The best government is one that afraid of its own people rising up against them when they realize that the government abuses its power. It keeps them from acting like anything other than "public servants."

What evidence do they even have that Trump was involved? If Trump really wanted an insurrection, why did he use a bunch of boomers instead of the actual military which he had at his disposal? There is so much evidence that said he has nothing to do with it that never got addressed

So you agree with me that the DoJ should have gone after Trump from the get-go. That's something. The "hearings" weren't a waste of time, they were needed because Biden and Garland bent over backwards not to appear partisan.

Naturally they were accused of it anyway.

No, nobody, let alone senators should be afraid of political violence in a democratic country. That means the democracy is failing and that, in turn, is because Trump has encouraged political violence. He pardoned hundreds of people convicted of violence on his behalf.

"its own people rising up" means peaceful protests by millions of people, like the BLM protests, not the attack on the Capitol that was intended to cement minority rule.

The military take an oath to the constitution, not the president. Unlike this president, they respect it.

There was literally no evidence that Trump was behind it. The riot started minutes before the speech ended, AOC lied about when the riots started when she gave her account, the capitol police chief called for backup and was refused, Trump could have used the actual military to perform the coup if he wanted it to be successful, the hearings included a time when Trump reached for the wheel for the limo he was riding in which would have been impossible from where he sat.

      Non-partisan my ass.

      >No, nobody, let alone senators should be afraid of political violence in a democratic country. That means the democracy is failing.

Uh yeah that's exactly why they should be afraid if its own people. They are called "public servants" for a reason, the people are their boss and they are supposed to act on their behalf but they routinely violate the constitution and especially the bill of rights which was what they have sworn to abide by. Follow that first and then we can talk about the people being wrongfully angry with the government.

      >Trump has encouraged political violence

The literal best you can come up with was when Trump spoke in his speech to PEACEFULLY make their voices heard, yet another reason to doubt that he was the instigator of j6. Come up with a better example.

      >He pardoned hundreds of people convicted of violence on his behalf.

Either they weren't convinced and spent the entire Biden presidency in jail or were convicted and spent far longer in prison and a rioter would have in any other context. They were political prisoners at that point.

I might even go as far as to say that they might be victims of an FBI or some other three-letter entrapment scheme.

@goaded >peaceful protests by millions of people, like the BLM protests,

Why am I not surprised that you still think that BLM was peaceful? Peaceful protestors don't assualt random people who were minding their own business and burn their buildings down, causing at least two billion dollars in private property damage in the 2020 riots alone.

How is it peaceful to terrorize people who were never involved in the reason why the rioters were angry? If anything that's just going to make people less sympathetic to your cause if you do that.

      >not the attack on the Capitol that was intended to cement minority rule.

That was what it was intended to do yes but it doesn't do that anymore. They have acted in their own interest for decades. Not caring about the bill of right and actively advocating for the amendments to be abolished is proof of that.

      >The military take an oath to the constitution, not the president. Unlike this president, they respect it.

How has Trump, at least in this term, violated the constitution? I remember in his previous term he managed to ban bump stocks which was a 2nd amendment violation but that's about it.

All of these government agencies have to answer to him anyway. How is any of what he's doing illegal?

"There was literally no evidence that Trump was behind it." Apart from the whole knowingly lying about the election for months, calling people to DC, and knowing full well that the armed people there weren't there to attack him?

If he was so innocent, why did he spend so much time and money delaying the trial?

"Trump could have used the actual military to perform the coup" Except the actual military take an oath to the constitution and are told to disobey illegal orders.

The government should be afraid of THE people, not SOME people. The latter is a standard tool of dictators.

Ignoring your lies about the Jan 6 convicts, which included convictions for seditious conspiracy and many cases of violence against the police.

The BLM protests included more people than the whole population of Florida. There were people taking advantage to loot, riot, and even to shoot law enforcement (but the last were on the right wing, Boogaloo idiots). Tell me there's no crime in Florida.

Every time Trump breaks the law, he's violating his oath of office to faithfully execute the laws of the United States.

I don't know about lying, that would imply that he knows full well why he lost and that is difficult to prove, I think he's just wrong about why but it's not like there weren't fishy things that happened during that election.

      >If he was so innocent, why did he spend so much time and money delaying the trial?

I didn't say he's innocent, I am saying the idea that he is behind j6 does not add up.

      >Except the actual military take an oath to the constitution and are told to disobey illegal orders.

I see you people complain about cops all the time and they take the same oath, what makes you think the military is any different?

Fine, but don't expect people to feel sorry for you if there ever is another BLM riot and they actually get treated as rioters unlike the treatment they got in 2020 where the the Biden campaign paid for their bail.

@goaded >The BLM protests included more people than the whole population of Florida.

I would be singing a different tune if BLM apologized for it, but instead they tried to minimize the issue by saying that a small percentage of their movement was violent. Even if this is true, the small percentage still caused at least two billion in damages. They should be paying for those damages but not only did they *not* do that, they wasted the money that was donated to them on buying mansions for the leaders. I don't trust them one bit.

      >Every time Trump breaks the law, he's violating his oath of office to faithfully execute the laws of the United States.

You didn't answer my question. What law did Trump violate?

I see the left praising Biden for letting illegal immigrants skirt immigration laws that were never abolished. They go from "no one's above the law" to "it's ok when we do it" within an instant. Go after Biden and the people who were in charge of the border patrol and then we will talk about holding Trump accountable for whatever law he is breaking, of which you seem unwilling to disclose.

That's because you've avoided looking at the evidence.

"Trump and his team *in their own words*:

      -Knew they lost
-Knew it was not legal for Pence to over turn
-Knew the states did not have fraud issues
-Researched "alternative electors" a month in advanced of those claims
      -Knew the documents were unofficial
-Took part in the transfer process
-And attempted to pass off forged documents directly to the VP
-Because of a pre-meditated plan to steal the election.

The first volumes represent 1889 pages of evidence, 70% still under seal.

This is just from the 30% unsealed, and there are more volumes to go.

The case could not be more clear.

And as a reminder, Trump's team refused to dispute the authenticity of any of this evidence, they only ask for it to be delayed as it would "hurt their client" during the election."

"if BLM apologized for it" Do you apologise for things you didn't do and didn't encourage?

"You didn't answer my question. What law did Trump violate?"
The hell I didn't. Just look at the indictments.

@goaded Honestly, I don't care about the 2020 election it's been five years and it should be in the past like Hillary's election denial. Whatever you guys did to convince us that Trump was the failed Austrian painter it failed and he's now more popular than ever.

All the indictments ended up as nothing but political theater the only thing he ended up getting technically convicted of was upgraded from a simple fine to a felony because you guys really needed a reason to brand the felon label, which ironically made him even more popular. Everyone with enough chromosomes to rub together knows the left is just trying to imprison their opponents and imprisoning Trump would be a major step towards demolishing the morale of your opponents without ever actually proving that they are in the wrong.

      But they failed.

      >"if BLM apologized for it" Do you apologise for things you didn't do and didn't encourage?

If someone committed wrongdoing under my name then now only would I be apologetic, I'd be furious with that person and ensure that he'd face legal justice.

BLM didn't do any of that, they just handwaved it.

Trump is not "more popular than ever", the indictments were all valid, but Trump ran out the clock with the help of millions of dollars of his supporters' money and people he and McConnell corruptly put into the judiciary.

@goaded He obviously is because he won the popular vote and they like what he is doing overall with DOGE. Rasmussen says he has a 60% approval rating from those under 40.

Why were they wasting their time with civil courts? Why were they resorting to state level courts? Why did they give up with convicting him halfway through the Biden presidency? The idea that he waited out the clock makes no sense. He even DID get a felony charge for the crime that isn't even a felony but they just dragged their feet and just waved their finger at him because he was already president at that point.

Of course he waited out the clock, and just as obviously Cannon and SCOTUS helped him. Three times, she exceeeded her authority in the open and closed documents case. SCOTUS can make decisions in days when it wants to, but it took them months before they declared against all reason and the text of the constitution that the president can break the law.

@goaded I was talking about the younger crowd, they are more in favor of seeing the bureaucracy burn. Of course the older generations are going to bring down that average because they are witnessing the end of the nanny state of which they have mooched off of since the New Deal. At least I hope it ends because those are nothing more than things that soften the blow of the shitty decisions made by the flat earthers of economics with Keynes being the prince of it and Marx being the king.

All Scotus declared was what has already been happening. If Scotus declares that Trump should indeed be imprisoned then Biden, Obama, Bush and the many many more presidents should face prison because they broke the law while in office as well.

Biden had documents laying around in his garage and was declared too senile to be held accountable for, and he led the charge for millions of illegal immigrants to sneak over the border, knowing that a significant population of them are convicted violent criminals who have been freed for this very purpose, which was and is still against the law.

If Trump must go to prison then they all must go because they have relied in this same immunity which SCOTUS has merely pointed out that it exists.

He has lost his mind to political propaganda, who have apparently picked their new boogeyman as Musk. A man with no power and no prospect of even running for president. @emeraldsaphire

What musk is doing for Trump isn't even all that new, we have had many goverment efficiency commissions making sweeping recommendations almost none of which were acted on by either the president nor congress.

Trump is just the first president to actually do it, with executive powers.
