Is it common practice that the guys only talk to the guys and girls only talk to other girls on your street?

I've never talked to any of my female neighbors, but will have fairly lengthy conversations with the guy neighbors. Most of the females with wave at me driving by while I'm out walking the dog. All the women are married on my street, and im the only single one, so I guess it's a good thing they never come up to me. I don't need some jealous husband coming up to me starting some shit. Anyways, is this some unwritten rule or something? We also all happen to be in our 30s if i had to guess. Kind of strange how that happened. Some of my neighbors have some expensive houses for their age.

I guess it's just common sense to not be chatting with your neighbors wife even if you don't have any romantic interest. Then again most neighbors don't really talk to each other these days it seems, so who knows.

I live here for almost 3 years and don’t even talk to the neighbors or meet any neighbors here.
I live in 30th apartment with 8 others neighbors with their family. But we all kinda anti social, i always peek if my neighbors outside before I leave the place, and if there is no anyone outside i can leave my place because I don’t want to meet anyone. And i notice my neighbors do the same thing.
Talk with guys? I don’t even talk with anyone.
