When US-Americans use the word "socialism", especially in connection with Europe, 99% of them have not the slightest clue what it even means or how it is even relevant in Europe. Most importantly, Europe is a looser or tighter connection (EU) of 35+ different states and not a monolith, being and acting the same everywhere. Do you think the United States is the same in every state? Europe is twenty times more diverse.

Let's also not forget that it was in the United States, where famous free speakers like Alex Jones, Rudi Giuliani, FOX "News" and others were convicted to pay insane sums for all the free things they had to say in their famous free country.

We all pay attention to it for different reasons. Those who are in favor become emboldened to continue saying it and going out to hurt people not like them. Those who don't like it, heavily oppose it and will defend themselves from those who preach it.
