"Canada is the single most important export market for U. S. wines with retail sales in excess of $1.1 billion annually," Robert P. Koch, president and CEO of the Wine Institute said in a press release. The tariffs and threat of tariffs come at a particularly hard time as the alcohol industry is facing "unprecedented challenges in the marketplace," he said.

Lawson Whiting, CEO of Brown-Forman, the maker of Jack Daniel's, said removal of the whiskey is "worse than a tariff."

On Tuesday he slapped 25% tariffs on everything coming from Canada and 2 days later he caved after Canada announced retaliatory tariffs and said he was delaying tariffs for another month. Canada announced they are keeping tariffs coming from the US and added more tariffs. I'm not sure what Trump is trying to accomplish because Canada exports mostly oil, gas, softwood lumber and electricy to the US at a discounted rate. After Trump announced tariffs Canada stopped discounting and now makes an additional 80 million per day just on the oil we ship to the US. Canada made trade deals around the world to replace the US as a customer. Unless Trump has made new trade partners like Canada has, he's losing the trade war.

This is trump putting a tariff (unjustly thus illegally) on Canada to get mineral rights because Musk wants them for his cars batteries. That is all this is about. Rich men want. Rich men attempt to take. Using their positions for private and personal gain.
