Tariffs start trade wars. Tariffs hit all consumers but the wealthy hard. Tariffs hit manufacturers and retailers hard on cost and inventory. The equity and debt markets hate instability. The US consumer was already stressed after 40 years of increase in the wealth gap. Farmers are looking at going bankrupt putting the food supply at risk. Unemployment is on the rise as businesses try to cut costs before tariffs hit. The US economy is about to collapse.

And on the political / military front... Orange Jesus has insulted and offended every ally we used to have and cozied up to our former enemies. NATO is considering ejecting the USA. NATO has ceased sharing intelligence with us because they can't trust us. And the Orange Turd in the punchbowl has just gutted our entire intelligence community. But our enemies are high fiving in Russia, China, North Korea, and Iraq. The see us as weak and vulnerable at this moment.

Who woulda thunk this would worry investors in the equity and bond markets? What a revelation! We are the absolute dumbest country on the planet.

The wishy washy tariff policy is seriously affecting businesses. Either stick with tariffs or eliminate them because no business can make any plans for the future until they have cost certainty. The markets will continue to decline until they know what direction Trump will go with the tariffs.

I think the people blaming that on Trump have a fair case for once. Usually they blame things on Trump that he can't possibly have fixed in such a short time but in this case the tariffs and speed he's moving at will have an impact. So will be the market manipulation by his enemies. I don't care about stocks though.
