Did 1000 people really buy the US Gold Card?

I heard today that the US Gold Card went on sale and 1000 were sold in the first day. The gold card is a plan by President Trump to sell US citizenships for 5 million dollars. I do not think it is a great idea and thought that it would not sell. If somebody had 5 million dollars to spend on a US citizenship could probably find a better and less expensive way to get US Citizenship.

I got mine on Amazon. It still says “preparing for shipment” after two weeks and it’s shipping from China so I’m not sure if it’s real or not.

This type of program has been around a long time. They aren't buying citizenship. They get a visa and green card ( or the equivalent ).

This is similar to existing programs that encourage investment and job creation. The majority of my ESL (English) students are here on E2 visas. E2 visas are given to companies that invest a certain amount of money in businesses, and create at least 10 jobs. E2 is also the visa for foreign employees of that business (and their families).

Most of my students are Japanese. There are at least 7 Japanese companies within 20-30 miles of me. I think all 7 of them are E2 companies, with a total of several hundred jobs.

The gold card is meant to replace that program (or something similar). This also raises money. If 1000 really sold, that's 5 billion dollars.

Other countries do it so it isn’t the craziest idea also it allows the wealthy to influence here more. Farmers and abled body workers that are used to unskilled low waged hands-on labor in the hot sun should be allowed easier access to allow the construction, agriculture, and other low skilled industries to thrive. Natural born Americans will always take up the skilled work with college degrees while immigrants will never go to college and take away those jobs in the similar fashion the high skilled workers wouldn’t take the low skilled jobs from them also there is a higher quantity of low skilled so Rich Capitalists can thrive well in the Capitalist society that runs this way.
Citizenship is harder to reach for average people, citizenship is easier for the wealthy which is a misstep from my perspective, it should be easier for all so no one would have to enter illegally.
