How do you feel about new US representative Randy Fine?

Randy Fine won special election for the representative of Florida 6th congressional district to replace Mike Waltz, who resigned to become a part of Trump cabinet.

Local newspaper Florida Today has described Fine as "Fine is obviously a hard working lawmaker who has used his watchdog skills to do good" but said that "Fine should defend what he believes in, but not by launching tirades against others as crusades on behalf of his constituents. He can look good without trying to make others look bad with personal attacks."

Some of his political positions:
- he opposes sewage spilling
- he co-sponsored a Florida bill imposing harsher penalties for offenses committed by people who are in the U. S. illegally than for everyone else, including a mandatory death sentence for first-degree murder and child rape committed by anyone who is in the U. S. illegally. He also filed a bill pursuant to which undocumented immigrants would no longer be charged in-state tuition rates (under $6,000 a year, rather than out-of-state tuition of $30,000) at Florida colleges and universities
- he believes that "neither DEI nor Critical Race Theory have any place in Florida’s public schools."
- he supports expanding school vouchers
- he supports 2nd Amendment and proposed a bill which would legalize concealed carry on college and university campuses
- he is staunchly pro-Israel
- He believes gays and lesbians are grooming minors. He supports a Florida bill banning anyone under the age of 18 from being able to attend a drag show, supports the Florida Parental Rights in Education Act, dubbed the "Don't Say Gay Bill" by its critics and supports a Florida bill CS/HB 1475 which bars transgender girls and women from playing on girls' sports teams at public schools

Fine is Jewish. He is to become just the 4th Jewish Republican congressman.

Florida was the first state to have a Jewish representative in the US House, and the same man later became the first Jewish Senator. His name at birth was David Levy and Levy County, Florida is named for him. He later changed his name to David Levy Yulee and the town of Yulee, Florida is named for him.

Still, did you know before that only 3 Jewish congressmen were Republicans? Fine will be 4th. Most of Jewish congressmen are Democrats.

Yes, historically, Jews have heavily favored the Democrat party and I am not sure why. Over the last 50 years, Republicans have shown much more concern and allegiance to protecting Israel.

I knew he was a former State Senator but I just did some research on him. He has a experience as a State Rep and State senator and has worked in the gaming industry. He was active in environmental legislation. He is a Harvard grad and taught there as well.

Putting aside the things I vehemently disagree with inside your own list, he is pretty much a piece of shit if you ask me. I can't wait for Trump to push him under the next proverbial buss that comes along, after all, that is his real job in Trumps administration. To serve as Trumps "fall guy".

I know nothing about him and he's not in my district. The people in his district elected him, so I assume they think he's the right person for the job.

I think since Gaza War started, they complain less, as their reputation is not as good, as it used to be.

I think it dépend on the country, in France they complain more as they were some arabs that attacked them or burned their shop.

Well, my country has neither Jews nor Arabs, so it's hard for me to tell. I just get a feeling from reading how it looks behind the border.

We have some too here where I live and in the South, they're generally nice. I think in France we would have less crime if we had only Ukrainian.

I am at practices in the court now and foreigners make up arouns 40% of all crimes I checked. Mostly Ukrainians and Georgians.

Which kind of crime are they doing?
In France Arabs mostly do drugs dealer, thief or rape.
And we have lots of Albanian going housebreaking.
After they wonder why most people don't like foreigner...

I mean - I have practices in the lower court now, so nothing serious. Most of them were not paying alimentów, a few cases of drugs pocession, threats etc. I dont know how it looks like in the upper court.

But I had a case of the Indonesia who was gay and fell in love in some Ukrainian, threatened to kill his family and broke the tires in his car.

In France most immigrant are in lower and upper court they're in both.
It's still crazy though to make up for 40 % of crime even if it's just lower one that's quite disproportional.
