It's a non-issue to me, so it doesn't make any difference.

BUT it's not a non-issue to millions of other people. I've been saying for a few decades that the Republican party needs to stfu about abortion. Their stance will not gain them any votes, but it will lose them votes. Plus a LOT of Republican voters don't agree with their stance.

I agree in principle that all elective abortion should be banned and that women shouldn't be able to "escape" motherhood (nor men fatherhood) just because they don't want a baby but realistically speaking it doesn't seem like there's population enough support for that to ever happen
