The government is considering nationalising British Steel. What do the British public think about this?

I feel if something is essential for the running of a country it should be nationalised otherwise leave in private hands. Steel is essential. Imagine wanting to build more tanks to fight china then having to ask China to sell you steel.
Then you've got cases like TATA steel where basically a whole towns been nearly wiped out because of a decision made in India.
