No. I wouldn’t support a majority of women being in combat roles. There’s a few who could handle it, but I don’t think a majority of women could. I spent my first enlistment in the infantry. Sucked ass big time. So I don’t see why a girl would want to be out in the field for weeks at a time. Wearing the same shitty clothes for 2-3 days straight, maybe longer. Hoping it rains so you can run out in the rain w your little ass bar of soap and try to shower as quick as possible. Otherwise your ass smells like baby wipes the entire time you’re out there. BDUs white at times from all the salt you sweat out. Eating MREs that make you constipated. Camo paint on your face which makes it even worse being uncomfortable. I don’t support all men either being in infantry roles. A lot of feminine men these days. Even some of the toughest dudes I knew broke down at times physically. Shin splints, bone spurs, plantar fasciitis. I served in a weapons platoon, as an 0331 (machine gunner). Carrying a machine gun that was 25.6 lbs, plus 500 rounds of ammunition w all your shit in your ruck. Torn up feet. Scars on my soles from blisters. Bad knees. Walking miles on a hump, dip shit Lt. getting you lost. Crawling in cold, muddy water in South Korea and all different parts of the world. Times have changed for sure. I was in toward the end of the 90s into the 2000s. But no I wouldn’t really support it unless they let the same standards as the men.

I support women in armed combat, in the same way I support men in armed combat. It depends on who one is fighting for. But I have no issue with women in armed combat, that would differ from my issues with men in armed combat.
I would support my sister or my daughter being in armed combat, if that's what they wanted to do. Just like my brother or son. I see no difference when it comes to this particular issue.
I would feel just as safe, with a group of highly trained combat-ready women... as I would feel were the soldiers male.
I think that there may be an argument; in then days of swinging a giant sword or battle axe. I don't think it matters at all with todays weapons.

Not really a case of supporting the idea more so than a case of supporting the women who want to do it.
You could argue that men are the sole reason we need and have armies in the first place. I find it difficult to understand why women would want to be in a place where we're on average treated quite differently and often worse than men, by men but it is their choice and I support that freedom of choice.78 Reply- 1 mo
If we look at things from a purely historic point of view, women have never been in a position where realistically their opinion on, say, whether to colonise a country, would have mattered. Let ALONE would have had enough weight to start a war.
If women with our unreasonable demands (which are?) were the cause of the problem of war, it seems way more likely to me that most armies would not be the way they are now and the wars. The wars we have to show off to aliens wouldn’t look the way it does - completely perpetuated by men, for men’s goals (including their goals for women) and with men front and centre. Women are, in a wartime context, seen as something that “can be lost to” to the other side and therefore need protection from (the men of the rival side) whereas men who are not at the very top are essentially cannon fodder who “can be lost to” the cause.
You cannot seriously be saying that women have been able to even partake in wars to the extent you seem to be implying lol. If you are, please elaborate because I’d love to hear it. - 1 mo

I blocked this moron for a reason.
Hey smartass, have you not noticed that both the leader of Russia and the Leader of Israel are both men? Get your head out your ass you liberal nutcase.
Typical unenlightened moron making a claim when all things point to the opposite being the case
2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yes. If they want do that and have no moral problems to eliminate enemy combatants. Women have usually good hand eye coordination, this makes them predisposed for being potential drone operator or precision shooter.

Do I support women in armed combat? It isn’t my say.
Imagine if this were flipped towards women a hundred years ago, “Would you send the man you love into combat before he even fathered children? Would you send their Daddy into combat and leave them without a father?”
This isn’t our daughters and sisters or wives, this is a woman choosing to fight overseas for freedom. Let women, men, or whatever fight if they want to fight especially since it helps the great American story continue to be written.

Again, I’m against drafts in general. If a man or woman is patriotic enough to risk their life in the call of duty then let them. The more boots on the ground, the better I say.

1. Fighting used to always be an obligation men gave to the state so their family could have freeman status. Though now relaxed, still was commonly understood even into more modern times.
2. When women die the population struggles to recover because men can impregnate multiple women (not desirable but women often aren't too loyal to their men anyway).
3. A squad of men & women in the military will lose against a squad of just men.
4. Teams of men tend to be less competitive &, more supportive with each other in the absence of female presence. This isn't just if they're attracted to her. It's an instinct. Men value their worth through the female perception of themselves.
5. When the draft comes usually men are targeted more. So why should women have equal rights when it comes to joining the military but men themselves aren't allowed those equal rights.
6. Men return home as heros & impress women. If women typically served in the military his status drops back down to just being some dude. Why did he even choose to fight in the first place? For a corrupt government that wants to eradicate his people & reduce the population?

@Sal_Monella No, as I'm a world peace guy for all things military, however except aid or true military self defence like the Japanese Self Defence Force as opposed to the way some countries use the term self defence - not that I'm naming any nation names that claim self defence lol - however I for one believe only butch women or masculine women/bravado women who are already "one of the guys, spits like a man, swears or curses like a man, takes it up the butt, etc" now those women sure why do I care if they join even lesbians.

Absolutely not.
I was in the marine corps infantry. We need to be realistic and honest… most if not all women will not be able to fireman carry a full grown man. That can weigh anywhere from 170-250lbs on top of his flak, kevlar, rifle, ammunition, water…
I just don’t see it happening.
Not to mention from a psychological perspective… I rather see a wounded man than a wounded woman. I wouldn’t want to see a woman with a severe gunshot wound or worse.00 Reply - 1 mo
Absolutely not. Men are designed for this job by nature both physically and mentally. They are the protectors of society. Women are designed to give life not take it. Plus they are a distraction to the men who need to get the job done.
I'm sick of seeing these 5' tall female cops and firefighters trying to prove they are "just as good as a man." Do your fantasy experiments somewhere else. It may work in fantasy movies but not in real life.
Who do you want to see when you are caught in a burning building? Some 5' tall woman who has her hair in a bun? Or a 6' 5" man who looks like an Olympiad?

On one hand, I can understand men in these fields of work not wanting women in there because they see them as a liability.

On the other hand, because women in the US just get voting rights handed to them on a silver platter while men have to register for selective service as soon as they turn 18, to get them, women have do some sort of service for the country or make a compromise to earn their voting rights.

I'm fine if women want to serve in the military in NON-COMBAT roles. I don't want to take away their honor to exclude them from serving, I am just opposed to them serving in combat. In small countries, like Israel for example, they have no choice but to let women serve in combat. But in America that is not necessary or desirable.
I’m the son of one such woman
And I couldn’t admire my mom more for enlisting when she did
She never went to an open war zone but she was trained for it
That part was scary as a kid
But I definitely support the notion of capable women being allowed to do capable things20 Reply- 1 mo

4.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. There is like what 1 to 10 ratio. To make a single combat operative ready there's 10 support operatives.
So it's not about can women be combat ready it's the fact that the vast majority of men are not capable of combat in the first place.
So what is the point of the question in the first place?
00 Reply- 1 mo
I think it's a military decision - as long as it's strictly military and not political.
My own opinion is that a woman is perfectly capable of deciding what she wants. A young 18 year old girl doesn't really know what she's getting into. But neither does an 18 year old guy.

Ehh... mixed feelings. Women don't have the same physical capabilities as men, but those gaps are being closed by technology every day. I think that if you have the will to sacrifice for your country, then by all means you should be allowed to. But I would always rather have men behind me than women.

I'm against women serving in combat roles for anything short of situations where the shit is totally hitting the fan. History has taught us this lesson many times; women get nasty when the claws come out, but it takes a fair amount to get them there psychologically.
If I'm on the attack, I don't want my invading force to be full of empathetic people. If I'm on the defense, I want my troops full of patriotic fervor.

Does having women in live combat make your fighting force stronger or weaker?
Weakening the capability of the military is not the goal so I think we have our answer
Not for the front line roles but do you think women should eligible for the draft just like men are?
00 Reply - 1 mo
No, and I think it would be a bit silly for them to be there.. Now this is not the same as being in the armed forces altogether.. I commend women who want to help out and do their due diligence.. But armed combat is another animal and even most women in the armed forces would rather not be in armed combat.. It's just not advantageous for women.. I wouldn't mind if my daughter went to the armed forces, but not to get into combat..
00 Reply - 1 mo
No, but women often do support men and armed combat.
A better question would be;
Do you support bringing back dueling?
If so what set of rules/laws should there be surrounding dueling?
In Texas they’re already is a form of this. It’s called. Mutual combat, It’s obviously less lethal than it’s predecessor of dueling with pistols or Sabres.
00 Reply If it’s for self defence yea. If it’s military battles or wars related let’s let the men fight the issues they created themselves, there’s no need to have women risking their lives for no reason.
20 Reply1.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. In some roles but, despite feminism claims to the contrary, women aren't as strong as men. There are funny videos of women failing badly at the physical side of things.
There must be something they can do though.

some of them would enjoy killing people.
yes. However, not everyone. If have to draft everyone, it's a bad day. Some people have no business being in that situation... including men.

I wouldn't want women in a situation where they are involved in hand-to-hand combat, but other combat duties would be fine, if they are fit and pass all the relevant training.
02 Reply- 1 mo
@XXblack88 Knowing how to fight hand-to-hand and knowingly being put in a situation where hand-to-hand fighting is required are two different things.

They rarely position woman on the front line. Supporting your country requires understanding possible ultimate sacrifice. If woman want to then that is their choice, not the choice of those around them.
00 Reply Pulling a trigger is as easy as opening a door. There is nothing extra special about women in combat. If that is the role they want, go for it.
00 Reply- 1 mo
If they are held to the same metrics as their male comrades and are capable then fine. But they should be there on merit, not just making up a quota. Same as any other demographic.
