Calling him “TACO Trump” because he adjusts tariffs isn’t the slam they think it is. That’s called strategy—testing pressure, gauging response, and pulling back if it risks the broader economy. It’s not “chickening out” to avoid collateral damage; it’s leadership. The same people crying that Trump is too aggressive will also mock him for showing restraint. Make it make sense.

Three times he imposed tariffs only to take them off a few days later because he tanked the markets and bond yeilds went up. That's chickening out and it exposed his weakness which is why there hasn't been a lineup to make new trade deals. Leadership is coming up with a plan and sticking to it. Even worse, after the court rulings he's lost leverage which is why the talks with China stalled and the EU openly said the court ruling gives them leverage to negotiate a more favorable deal for the EU. It's going to be another lost quarter before that can get sorted out. It's such a mess and it was unnecessary.
