If you want to serve your country, you have a right when you are 18 to join the armed forces and once you pass the rigorous tests, tribulations, and trials you get to serve your country well. I don’t allow anyone to ban people they don’t agree with politically / want to acknowledge the existence of. I don’t care if you are white, hispanic, jewish, serbian, christian, or whatever you are allowed to serve your home country well and fight against Anti Republic Forces wherever they may roam. It's a fact that transgender have higher rates of mental problems and need meds that they won't have if they get captured by the enemy or stuck in a remote location for a long period of time. It's a distraction that gets away from the mission of the military. The military is not supposed to be a social experiment or marketing arm of lgbtq promoters.

Sure, politicians do sucky things all the time but this ain't one of them. You want to switch genders or claim you're a gender that the vast majority of people don't perceive you as, maybe take it to the theater or your favorite night club or costume parties.

It solves the logistical problems of supplying trans people their hormone therapy and further post op trans aren't fit for duty. The surgeries and hormone therapy fuck up how their body works under extreme stress such as combat. Third Trans people have the highest rate of mental illness percentage wise of any sexuality. I can't join the military because I'm overweight have bad eyesight and Bipolar, OCD, ADHD and PTSD. Does that mean it's unfair for me to be a soldier? No, it means I'm a liability to the troops beside me. Banning some people from military service for medical reasons is completely justified. The military doesn't conform to you to make you feel special you conform to the military to meet the standards for being a warrior. Also, I've never met a single trans person that had what it took to pass basic let alone serve.

Oooof. Tough question. The military filters for certain medical issues. As an example I know that the Marines filter for asthma and diabetes. Though there are acceptions. They do not want to put someone in a battlefield environment that requires consistent medication, if possible. What happens if those meds are lost or damaged during combat? That person becomes a liability that the other Marines around them would now need to account for and compensate for. Which reduces the strength of the fighting force. The medications needed for transgenderism could be under the same disqualification umbrella. None of this accounts for the mental health issues that still surround transgenderism. It's a complicated subject.

I worked with someone at a military base who had transitioned. As a male, while in the military, he had won airman of the year. As a female, she was working as a contractor, having separated from the service (and apparently his penis), and was one of the best hardware (no pun intended) techs there.

Mentally ill people should not be serving at all. Much lesser conditions, such as ADD and ADHD are automatic and permanent disqualifiers from service. Getting rid of liabilities improves readiness.

Also men pretending to be women and being graded on female standards means that they are well below expectations for men in service.
