Yes I think this is the only way and it has to be done carefully and with the advice of an attorney who is knowledgeable in these matters. I think that even a girlfriend of the father might be able to make a claim for custody of a child born this way and most importantly make a claim for child support even if she is not the biological mother.

Interesting concept and maybe since women have all the choice in conventional relationships wrt pregnancy being kept or terminated then this could be a truthful and interesting development in child rearing.

Actually if you love children enjoy them this is not a bad idea at all. You do however run the risk of the surrogate deciding that the child is actually hers and petitioning the court to keep it. When this happens, the chances of you actually getting the child that you paid for are very slim. Again, courts will always favor the woman over the man and not just in cases where things are equal. This is the result of the infamous tender years doctrine we're in. Women are deemed to be much better human beings than men in almost all instances. I am hard-pressed to think of a more biased and disgusting legal trend other than slavery which was arguably much worse.

I like this idea. If I had a strong desire to just have more children, I think I would go this route. I could pick a fine specimen to breed with and I wouldn't have to deal with any of the bullshit I might end up dealing with trying to get her pregnant with my child the old fashioned way.

If she is not from another country, such as Iran, that is not in tight with the USA, that is extremely risky, because if she is not anonymous, the child protective services, aided by family courts, will invent a means to award her custody of the child and force you to pay child support.

It is better to purchase eggs, using an attorney, from someone with exceptional genes. That way, she doesn't know who purchased her eggs. Nor does she know if a child was produced from her eggs.

In that scenario is the father more legally binded to the child than the mother ie. in this case Alysa because it is his sperm and not her eggs?

In anyways I would have to say if custody was contested in court the court has the final say no matter what.

You need both a reason and justification to contest custody. Parents have custody, so with rare exceptions, the only person to contest custody is the other parent. In this case, the only parent is the father so there is no other parent to contest custody.

Yes, men can do that but they are very reluctant to do it because it usually triggers a rage attack by the new mother on the putative father. This is particularly pronounced when women aren't very sure about who the father is themselves.

Absolutely true, although I would not tell a female nurse something like this because more likely than not she would tell the mother about it and then deny she had done it. If you confronted her telling a male nurse is probably safer or even a male physician. I don't think you should involve women and things like this because they tend to stick together and they will breach your confidence anytime they feel an obligation to another woman. Which they seem to feel all too often.

I think it's also important for people to understand that a DNA sample from the mother is not needed for a paternity test at all. When I got my daughter tested I simply took her her to a University hospital where I was on staff and wrote an order for the paternity test. Her mother never found out that I did this and still does not know.
