There definitely was a Jewish problem for the nazis. They had imprisoned millions of jews across Europe and couldn't get rid of them because Britain wouldn't let them be deported to Palestine and America under the pressure of the American Jewish lobby wouldn't take them, so they needed a solution that was final to solve the problem. I don't think the Holocaust of 6 million jews, 5 million slavs and others is comparable to the immigrant problem in the us as jews in nazi Germany during the Holocaust were trying to leave but couldn't.

Jews were an easy target for blame for all Germany's and Europe's woes after WW2 because they represented a disproportionate amount of communists, politicians, bankers, financers and so on. They blamed the jews for stabbing the Germany army in the back because a lot of the weimar Republic politicians were Jewish and of course for the great depression and hyper inflation because of the government and bankers.
