How do you feel about Trump calling for Native American sports teams' name reversal?

President Donald Trump is calling on the Washington Commanders to “immediately” restore the team’s original name in order to preserve Indigenous Americans’ “heritage and prestige.”

“The Washington ‘Whatever’s’ should IMMEDIATELY change their name back to the Washington Redskins Football Team. There is a big clamoring for this,” Trump posted on Truth Social

Likewise, he added, the MLB’s Cleveland Guardians should revert back to their longtime name, the Cleveland Indians.

“Their heritage and prestige is systematically being taken away from them,” Trump wrote. “Times are different now than they were three or four years ago. We are a Country of passion and common sense. OWNERS, GET IT DONE!!!”

The president amplified his statement with another Truth Social post. “My statement on the Washington Redskins has totally blown up, but only in a very positive way. I may put a restriction on them that if they don’t change the name back to the original ‘Washington Redskins,’ and get rid of the ridiculous moniker, ‘Washington Commanders,’ I won’t make a deal for them to build a Stadium in Washington. The Team would be much more valuable, and the Deal would be more exciting for everyone. Cleveland should do the same with the Cleveland Indians.”

I disagree with the PC movement with sports team names. My alma mater is the FSU Seminoles and we are proud to have the endorsement of the Seminole Tribe to use their name. I think the President shouldn't meddle in this matter.

My town's sports teams used to be the Indians. Now they are called the Hawks. I still wear my Indians jacket as do a lot of people. Trump is on the right track with this.
