Do you feel that the US has become overly litigious?

Personally I believe that we use the courts way too much to settle disputes and get an easy payday from someone else for the smallest things. I know this will ruffle some feathers, but a great example would be Trump who uses the courts to go after anyone he doesn't like or that has the gall to say something negative about him (even if it's true) just to get a settlement out of them rather than them having to continue fighting for years in court at a greater expense than it would be just to pay him off.

This isn't meant to be a political question about our president, just a question about if we are becoming too reliant on using the courts to settle our issues.

100%. In Europe, it feels totally different... like there isn't the fear of litigation. example... they drink wine at the park, young kids can drink... it's no problem. Driving seems safe as well, they are better trained.

USA sucks in many waysand this is one.

I'm thankful in life I've so far avoided them... I could have and maybe won some $, but I don't like the system, so avoid them. people whom learn the system can use it as a lever to steal from others.

what do you do though if someone harms your child... say an accidental death. want compensation... or let by gones be bygones? some of it is in our mentality... at least of a few people.

The United States has a long history of being highly litigious, with people encouraged to assert their rights. I support this principle, even in cases involving individuals like Trump. If even one person is denied their rights, it impacts us all; due process is a recent example of this.

However, I do not support the corruption of the legal system, such as threatening or bribing judges and outright defiance of court orders. Trump again serves as an example of this behavior.

I understand that frequently relying on the legal system to resolve disputes can be frustrating, but unfortunately, there aren't many good alternatives. In the past, people often resorted to fists and weapons to settle their disagreements. While our legal system is not perfect, I believe it is ultimately a much better option.

The US has become the world's drama show at this point and trump is acting and moving like a prick, he's lost my support when he hid those Epstein files, even if he releases them now I don't trust it because he could've easily doctored the files, as far as I know he's a damn pedophile too and he's on that list, his behavior has given that away.

yes, having unelected judges dictate policies that effect every American is wrong as is going after an opposing candidate with frivolous court cases over charges that have neve been levelled against anybody before just to stay in power. This is not what the courts were designed for.

It’s not complicated at all. Sanders didn’t say ‘boo’ when people were suing Fox News, but it’s “lawfare bullying” when CBS gets sued for election tampering. He’s as biased and willfully ignorant as anyone.
