If it was egalitarian in gender then every branch of the government would have a 50/50 split of men and women. Currently it’s 80% men, 20% women. If it was matriarchal then it would be 80% women and 20% men or less.

Can you please define government branches? I think what you are referring too are the different ministries and government services like police and home affairs department and such. But can you tell me so that I know exactly what are you referring to when you say government branches?

But I asked if society is matriarchal, which means that women rule men especially in the family structure. What you mention is only a tiny part of society not society at large! The fact the the majority of the government branches are men might simply mean that women don't like those roles very much. So you don't find them there.

You’re smart enough to recognize that calling the ruling class patriarchal/matriarchal has a great deal to do with which group is in charge of not just family units, but people as a whole.

I do not agree with your train of logic. Government branches are influenced by society as a whole. What they do must not go against society at large in Western democracies. Just because they are mostly men in the government departments does not mean that it is a patriarchal society. Especially if they are soft, nerdy men!! Courts for instance tend to favor women when it comes to child custody for example, and the men end up paying child support, and he can see his own children with measured doses. We men have become the underdogs in this society.
How do government branches make society patriarchal? How? Patriarchal in its latin roots means that it is the rule of the father. That is to say the family in the olden days had the father as head. Today it is the mother who is the real head of the family. Because either that or there is serious leverage she can crank up on her man. And the laws (which are ultimately what count because they are binding on people) certainly do not favor men when it comes to the family structure. They might be equal in theory at best but in practice they aren't. For instance this divorce thing and she gets to own half of your wealth is a PRIME example. And all she has to cite to get a divorce is irreconcilable differences which are very hard to argue against because they are subjective. I tell you it is glaringly unfair. I just can't believe it how the law got to this point. Like why don't they fix it, to stop this unfairness? Or perhaps you or of the opinion that there is nothing unfair about it. I would not be surprised at all.

If the US government was 50/50 split between men and women with the same percentage of parties as it is now, abortion rights would not have been overturned in a 2/3 vote

I don't know about how that would turn out. I am not against abortion for instance. Its your body. Up to a point you can have an abortion at will if it was for me to decide. I say up to a point because I don't think you can expect it to be o. k to have an abortion on say a 6 month old baby without having a good reason. Such as a risk to your health if you don't have an abortion. That would be a good reason to have an abortion at any point.
