Florida plans to become the first state to end all vaccine mandates, including for schoolchildren, rejecting a practice that public health experts have credited for decades with limiting the spread of infectious diseases.
We can expect many children in Florida to die as a result of this.
- 2.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
9 moProbably not. Most vaccines are for diseases that are actually pretty easily treated in the US; some even without professional medical intervention. When was the last time you or anyone you know was hospitalized for the flu? We haven’t evaluated vaccine mandates in seventy years because Big Pharma isn’t about to let anyone interfere with their guaranteed profits scam.
What will more likely happen is an increase in doctor visits and hospitalizations. It’s also likely that health insurance premiums will rise. We will certainly see a reduction in vaccine related injuries, illnesses and deaths. Some people might get very sick and die, but not as many as you’re suggesting. Despite glaring issues with gouging in US healthcare, we still have fairly high quality of care in most facilities. We’re still vaccinating like ours is a third world nation where modern medicine is hours away if it’s even available in the country at all. Ell oh ell!
It’s an interesting aspect of the lunatic left’s argument in favor of open borders. Millions of people without vaccination documentation flow into this country and they don’t care. If you were born here, live in the same community and you can’t show them your vaccination papers, they want you put in prison. Hypocrites.01 Reply
Asker9 moTry treating Rabies, measles, smallpox, tetanus, pertussis, polio, or hepatitis once they are established in someone, and see how "easy" or successful that is.
All can be prevented with vaccines.

Its like they are spitting in the face of everyone before them who has died in plagues and disease outbreaks just because they themselves dont understand how good they are having it when living under the protection of vaccination. 9 moOk, so the next generation is not going to demonstrate immunity against the most common childhood diseases and should they survive there is going to be morbidity and when adults catch those diseases they are left with more devastating residual effects. This is a true example of the word ignorance. Knowing the truth but choosing to ignore it. It is true that if you live in a rural areas your personal freedoms are greater. When you start packing people in close quarters, some of your freedoms are sacrificed for the common good.

Fine, put up quarantine centers on every road leading into another state. No one leaving Floriduh gets in until they have either proven they are vaccinated. If they don;t like it they can stay in Floriduh. All flights originating from Floriduh are subject to quarantine upon landing.

Making America a 3rd world country one stupid decision at a time. Throw away hundreds of years of medical research and progress. Bring back childhood diseases, smallpox, and polio for your children. Let's see if we can wipe out this MAGA filth in a couple of generations.
Health insurers should refuse to cover life saving treatment for these anti vaxxer assholes.

9 moThe state of Florida also dose not mandate that our citizens eat food or drive cars, yet people some how manage to make decisions that best suit our circumstances. It's amazing what the free people of Florida are capable of doing all on our own without being told what to do and when to do it by government officials.

9 moWell, it was never really a mandate because you could always get a religious exemption. And it didn't apply to private schools.
I don't believe all vaccines are bad, some are good, and removing a mandate is, in my opinion, risky in the long-term.
Perhaps a compromise is in order. Make vaccines fir certain diseases (MMR, for example) a strong recommendation, but don't require it.00 Reply - 8.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.

8 moSome of the doomsday predictors are over reacting. Most kids will still get vaccines. It would probably be a small minority of kids who don't get them. It's hard to know just how many, but it's unlikely to be enough to cause any real problem.

If a vaccine prevents you from getting sick you don’t need me to get one
Asker9 moSo everyone should get vaccinated to cater to your ignorance and lack of education?
- 9 mo
That’s not how vaccines work. If you don’t want a disease, you get the vaccine. I don’t need you to wear a seatbelt to protect me in a crash in my car.
Asker9 moIf you get killed in the crash, as long as you don't fly into me, it's not going to make too much difference to me. On the other hand, if you get sick and you are breathing the same air I'm breathing I am much more likely to get sick as a result of breathing, the air you've breathed. In case you're not aware of it. This is called contagion. You should read up on this since you apparently don't believe it.
- 9 mo
You got the vaccine, remember? The vaccine’s only purpose is to prevent you from getting a disease you’re exposed to.
Asker9 moThat is not true. In this case, the vaccine does not always prevent the disease, but instead mitigates the effect of the disease if you catch it, and usually keeps people from dying.
Why is your knowledge of all this so defective? Why do you even want to argue about this?- 9 mo
Ah, so that’s different definition from what the term vaccine meant up until 2021. But sure, let’s go with that…..
If it doesn’t prevent disease and mitigates effects of the disease if you catch it, then it 1) works whether I get one or not, and 2) doesn’t prevent you from spreading the disease since you have enough of the virus in you to cause a bodily reaction.
So under your revised definition, you’re lying when you accuse the unvaccinated of spreading disease.
Asker9 moYou seem incapable of comprehending gradations as well as the uselessness of attempting to measure them. We know these things statistically. You cannot logically apply a reductionist analysis to individual cases as you keep attempting to do.
Benefits for yourself:
Reduced risk of severe disease: If you get sick with COVID-19 after being vaccinated, your illness is much more likely to be shorter and less severe compared to an unvaccinated person. Updated vaccines have shown a significant reduction in critical illness, emergency room visits, and hospitalizations. In some cases it may prevent diseAse altogether. (A reduced risk is not zero risk because that is not possible, but it is better than unmitigated risk).
Lower risk of Long COVID: Vaccination can substantially reduce your risk of developing Long COVID, or post-COVID conditions, which can cause long-term health issues even after a mild initial infection.
Safer immunity: Getting immunity through vaccination is safer than through infection. COVID-19 can cause serious, life-threatening complications, and there is no way to know how severely the disease will affect you.
Protection against new variants:
The virus that causes COVID-19 is constantly changing. The vaccines are updated periodically to provide enhanced protection against the currently circulating variants, similar to the annual flu shot.
- 9 mo
lol long covid is caused by the covid-19 shot. It's a vaccine injury.
Your position doesn't pass common simple logic.
1) The shot doesn't prevent transmission
2) Therefore you can still get sick from Covid-19 despite having the shots
3) Therefore if you get sick from Covid-19 while having the shots, you can still spread the disease - the shot DOES NOT prevent the virus from going to another person.
4) Therefore, it's not "the unvaccinated" spreading Covid-19. It's anyone who gets Covid-19.
There is zero reason for a healthy person under the age of 70 to get these shots. They have caused serious heart disease among young men.
You can keep spouting the 2021 propaganda all you want, but the world has moved on from this scam.
Asker9 moI think we are all lucky that you aren't in charge of public health. I don't know where you get these ideas but I am not going to spend any more time poking holes in them. You keep making assertions without evidence regarding the covid-19 vaccine because Trump told you that you need to do this. Taking medical advice from a convicted felon who has absolutely no medical background whatsoever is probably a bad idea.
