1 yAbsolutely. There's nothing that can't be prevented or cured with a good dose of prayer or by rubbing a potato on it and burying it under a full moon. My grandmother never once had a vaccine or went to a doctor and lived to the ripe old age of 35.

1 yCouple months back people were dying to measles as they were not vaxxed. I cannot speak for all vaccines but I’ll take the risks knowing something will eventually kill me. But if it’s preventable, I don’t understand why I’d consider otherwise.

It was the same with the 'Monkey Pox' outbreak we have had recently.
It's not a coincidence that a Pox disease appears 40 years after the Small Pox Vaccine has been terminated because scientists thought Small Pox had been eradicated. - 1 y
When the Monkey Pox mini outbreak came it was clearly being stated that the Small Pox vaccines also prevented people contracting the Monkey Pox.

@molonski2 Nothing is 100% effective. Perhaps the vaccine didn't work for you. It sure as hell did for me.
- 1 y
@molonski2 You seem to think that because you caught Covid that means the vaccines didn't work for anyone.

@molonski2 I am not going to go chasing your random posts. I don't work for you - don't give orders.
11 moNo, the only way vaccines should ever be outlawed, is if it's a specific vaccine, and there is scientific evidence supporting that it's not as effective or safe as originally thought, which isn't any different then a prescription drug being pulled from the market because it turned out not to be as safe or effective as originally thought.
While I don't believe vaccines should be banned, I also believe they shouldn't be mandated, similar to prescription drugs, vaccines are not 100% safe and effective for 100% of people, and the decision of weather to get vaccinated or not should be up the person and their DR, not the person and the government.
03 Reply- 11 mo
The government has a duty to mandate vaccines in cases where being vaccinated prevents the person from potentially spreading a contagious disease to others. If covid had not been contagious, nobody would have cared if anyone got vaccinated or not, but it is contagious and because of that vaccination was in fact mandated and probably saved a lot of lives as a result.
- 11 mo
No, the government doesn't have a duty to mandate vaccines, what they do have, is a duty to recommend vaccines. If someone has a medical history and proof from their Dr that they are at high risk of death or injury from a vaccine, then they shouldn't be forced to take the vaccine. On another note, if people wanna be stupid and not get vaccinated, it's not the governments responsibility to protect them from being stupid. After all, why should the vaccinated care, they are protected from the unvaccinated.
- 11 mo
The government has every right and every duty to mandate vaccines that protect people. If there's some medical reason why someone should not take a vaccine, then there are always exceptions to mandates. You seem to have this backwards again as you've done repeatedly throughout this discussion.

1 ySmallpox was completely eradicated thanks to vaccines & work of CDC / WHO showing up to millions of people’s front-doors in India right before the misinformation wave of the digital age could say otherwise. Unfortunately, Polio is a disease that was close to being eradicated right before misinformation hit the mainstream… If you look up old Polio vaccine footage, people were lined up to get it like it was the latest smartphone release.
Vaccinations are great when it comes to fighting off Measles, Covid19, Flu, etc. We need vaccines because without them, we are increased at risk also in most cases if we don’t all get vaccinated the disease can actually harm others then spread within the vaccinated population if enough of a minority don’t get vaccinated. We had school vaccine mandates prior to 2020, misinformation made people mistrust the system that works.
10 Reply 929 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Vaccines are needed there is no doubt , we only have to look at History as to all the good that has been done via vaccines. All that being said the model with these vaccines did seem to be flawed , maybe it was because of time lines I'm not sure , there were numerous heart issues in a certain demographic.
There also were numerous other deaths that were not Covid related that occurred that should not have , we seemed to have tunnel vision , the best defense against the likes of Covid is a functional immune system , that's a fact , and lockdowns well that's just an absolute joke , the worst possible strategy , and this stuff was a hypochondriacs dream .
For the record , I've had 4 of these shots , which I didn't need , I did it with the mindset that it was best for all , but NO MORE.
00 ReplyThe mRNA vaccines should be outlawed until we have some serious long term data. The very real fact that there are people who have died, injured, and will die soon from this should be of great concern. As anecdotal evidence, I know of two people who died and 4 that are permanently injured from the mRNA vaccine. But on the flip side I know of no one who died from COVID. In my heavily populated area, there was one person in 750,000 that actually died from COVID. But he was 150 lbs overweight, had diabetes, and high BP. So is it any surprise that he died?
What I also find concerning is this massive vaccine schedule. When I was a child, it was just the MMR vaccine at 6-12 months of age. And that was it. Even the old people didn't get the flu vaccine. Then I just learned in my state, the public school system has far more mandatory vaccines and booster shots. Looking at the schedule, it's almost every 4-6 months they want students getting some vaccine or another.

Yes, I agree with you on the mRNA vaccines.
There are a lot of people who have reported complications from the Covid-19 Vaccines (most are mRNA Vaccines, but not all), and some people have even died, but all critical reports are being discredited and buried... There's a reason for that, there must be something dodgy about them.
23.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No, vaccines hace saved millions of lives. I remember when Polio was still around. The vaccine was a game changer
30 Reply5.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Sure, it would be great to have children being paralyzed by polio, suffocating with pertussis, scarred by chicken pox or measles, disfigured by tetanus, dying of diphtheria, sterilized by rubella.

1 yNo, many vaccines have proven to work.
But in recent years they've started to use mRNA Vaccines, think about most of the Covid-19 Vaccines and the Influenza Vaccine... I have my doubts about them.00 Reply- 472 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
1 yI don't think so, look at the polio vaccine, probably saved millions of lives.
00 Reply 1.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Nah people can inject themselves with chemicals if they want to. Vaccines should never be a requirement for anything tho

"People not getting them are causing outbreaks of preventable diseases" So can people getting them, certain formulation of vaccines can cause vaccine-derived viruses which could potentially lead to out breaks, there were reports in Africa of the oral polio vaccine causing outbreaks (again, this isn't all polio vaccines causing outbreaks, just on specific formulation causing outbreaks).
@Apple1996 And it's a risk that's needs to be between you and your Dr, not you and the government. The first time my cousin got the flu shot/vaccine, they had a severe allergic reaction and almost died, and hasn't gotten another one since. Vaccines are just like prescription drugs, they are never going to be 100% safe for 100% of people. - 11 mo
"there are also people who die from getting vaccines. It's a risk either way "
The whole point is that the risk is vastly lower with the vaccines, and that herd immunity from near total vaccination makes it far more likely that people who would likely die from the disease will avoid it altogether, even if they can't have the vaccine for medical reasons.
If a vaccine was anywhere near as dangerous as catching the disease itself, it wouldn't be used as a vaccine. - 11 mo
@CaptainObivous Flu shots have never been mandated anywhere and your cousin would be safer from the flu if almost everyone around them was vaccinated.
The polio problem happens when the virus reverts, but that's because "in areas where polio vaccination rates are low, in rare cases the vaccine virus can continue to spread among un- or underimmunized people for months, accumulating enough mutations to revert to its paralytic form.". www.science.org/.../first-polio-cases-linked-new-oral-vaccine-detected-africa
Again, the problem comes back to low vaccination rates, not the vaccines themselves.
"the context of an unimmunized population that had had suboptimal access to health care was a critical risk factor, and the [2017] outbreak was brought to a close through sustained efforts to repeatedly vaccinate every child with oral polio vaccine (OPV), despite challenges around access and ongoing conflict."

@goaded "If a vaccine was anywhere near as dangerous as catching the disease itself, it wouldn't be used as a vaccine" Your from Germany, a country who's government isn't influenced by Big Pharma who puts profits over safety. Not saying all vaccines are unsafe (most are), but when their is profit motive, influence on government agencies and immunity to liability, you have the potential for questionable products getting approved.

@CaptainObivous We use the same vaccines here as in the US. Many are required before attending school or kindergarden.
I didn't say flu shots should be mandated, I said people like your cousin (and other people who are at serious risk from infectious disease) are safer if almost everyone else is vaccinated.
You're apparently 29. 1 in 400 people your age will die this year in the US. The chance of having a serious adverse reaction to a vaccine is closer to one in a million. People are terrible at risk analysis.
