This is a question i never thought i would have to ask.. But in recent the trump team has assigned the removal of slavery history specifically the bad sides of it from national parks and museums.

While the depictions and evidence of the literal scars of slavery are being removed from museums and national public spaces. Trump's team supports renaming forts back to the people who were on the side of the confederacy... let me make this absolutely clear. The confederacy wanted to keep slavery legal. To support confederate members and its confederate flag, is a support for slavery. Yes I get that some people claim the confederate flag is a symbol for southern pride.. but be real, its for the support of slavery.

Reinstating confederate names to Places like
Fort Barfoot
instead of honoring a medal of honor recipient that has no ties to the confederacy they chose to name it after a confederate army general George Edward Pickett

Fort Eisenhower
being changed to Fort Gordon, instead of honoring Dwight D. Eisenhower a former president who didn't support slavery, they instead chose someone that supported the confederacy. However with respect to Gordon's accomplishments in the war. Still Gordon was on the side that supported slavery.

Fort Gregg Adams
The current trump team wants to rename it back to Fort Robert E Lee, a confederate general. It was named Fort Gregg Adams, for Lt. Gen Arthur Gregg and Lt. Col. Charity Adams accomplishments in the military and they didn't have ties to the confederacy.

But I think you get the point.
Why allow so much confederacy praising in an america that doesn't want slavery?

The world has had slavery for thousands of years. So why do people single out the US for their past? Slavery, in one form or another, is still going on in the world. For instance, some people are slaves to their jobs and if they do not do as they are told they get fired, and women still get pregnant by their bosses.

Hi! Slavery is Abhorrent. Slavery is a practice that has been and continues to be a part of human society. For slaves in the Americas, life was brutal. They were sold by their African brothers as part of the north atlantic slave trade. Their lives were measurably worse had they been sold to the muslim slave trade. Black people in America, native Americans, and whites owned slaves.

While slavery was a part of the reasons for secession in the south, slavery was not the ONLY reason for the civil war. Many southerners fought for what they saw as an overbearing federal government and to defend their land and families. Obvious, since only the minority of southerners own slaves.

Slavery is still being practiced in much of Africa. There are more slaves alive now than there ever were in the 1800s.
