Can You Be Friends with Someone Who Hates Your Country?

Can you really form a friendship with someone who frequently hates your country or its people? Does it affect your perspective of them, or is it possible to look past those opinions for the sake of the relationship? Would love to hear your thoughts on this!

Perspective. Why matters.

It might be a sign they need help if their own life is getting overwhelming and they are so easily tripped. Most things happen in a country and people just acknowledge and move on. People get political when there is a need to. It can be healthy. So ask is this hate for the country? Or disagreements with the countries leaders choices. There is a difference.

Just because you disagree with someone doesn't mean their views are from hate. They are basing their stand on their life experience.

So back to friends. Details matter. I can't be friends with someone destructive or hateful. But if they have legit reasons for their stances and still reasonable and considering your own with respect. Yes.

Hatred for something or someone is a pretty strong word. I would question where this hatred comes from, but I really doubt that I could be friends with a hateful person. If that hate is simply dislike then sure I can friends.
