It seems like he spoke about the plight of innocent people, not the problems of the guilty. People who break the laws aren't innocent. It doesn't seem like he's defending illegal aliens whatsoever. If he had, it would just cheapen the papacy and undermining his own legitimacy. Clearly supporting satanic MS-13 type people who are known murders, rapists, thieves, pedophiles, etc. would be un-biblical. What makes you think 1.4 million Catholics in America are Trump supporters in the first place? They don't. As for him trying to "convince" the flock of something they should KNOW in the first place, I prefer to think of it as a "reminder" to walk the walk and not just talk the talk.

I haven't seen The Pope's exact words, but I seriously doubt he would specify helping only those who are currently Christian, because that's NOT at all what Christ is purported to have said. Christ spoke of how to treat the "stranger" in your land, since obviously, there were no "Christians" at the time.

This Pope recognizes Trump as the fraud that he is, and even though he carefully chooses his words, you can easily hear the condemnation he has for Trump's behavior and hypocrisy.
