What's the point of forcing commercials on us online and giving us the option to skip them? Why post them if we're not gonna watch them?

On one site I got to almost every day, they post the same commercial twice in a row! If I'm NOT gonna watch it the first time, WHY would I wanna watch it the second time?
WHY go to the great cost and effort to create them when nobody's gonna watch past the obligatory first 5 seconds?
Same with t. v.! They run about 8:00 of commercials for every 7:00 of show and everybody leaves the room to pee, fuck, shit or get something to eat when they come on!!
If I worked at an ad agency and knew nobody was watching the commercial I created, other than all the money I'd make for doing it, I'd feel my time and energy had been a complete waste!!

Remember how in the 60s and 70s there were some commercials that were entertaining? Some made people famous like Mr. Whipple of "Don't squeeze the Charmin". Charlie the tuna.
Sure we hated them then too but some were alright.

Yeah, SOME were alright and, we were just kids, then so, we watched just about anything. Today's commercials aren't at all entertaining. And the fact that I get one every 2 to 5 minutes is incredibly annoying!

You should play this puzzle game where you separate the color blocks to go together in these isles. To reverse you have to play a commercial then you receive 3 reverses. About 75-80% of the time it kicks me off or I didn't touch the x just right after the allotted time to watch the shit. Then I have to go back and wait for the game to load then push the button to try again. I've become so angry after 4 or 5 times I've contacted the games makers and cussed a blue flame telling them how their advertisers have ruined the game.

Because some people do watch them and some people actually buy the product that's being advertised.
