Florida or Pennsylvania, where would you spend the night alone?

Both American states are known as dangerous no go areas best avoided. So let's visit some old Welsh ruins instead.

FLORIDA ABBEY. First Three photos. A 11th century Abbey and home to the white monks until King Henry IV forcefully evicts them and uses it as a military base.

PENNSYLVANIA. Last three photos. Settled by Quakers in the 17th century they named it Pennsylvania. It was occupied until the early 20th century when a farmer came and poisoned the village well. Today it's know as Maes Y Mynydd (the place on the mountain).

Both are now just ruins and nice enough for a day time wander. But I want to know where would you prefer to spend the night alone?

Of course i would spend the night but you need to come to just to keep and eye out while I sleep lol

There was a.. t v show called the ghost hunters and they went up to Virginia City.
Ghost town or really? It's just like it was but it was back it the 1800 it's a gold town

Wooden board walkways, bars, you name. It, it has every type of saloon up there. It's a tourist town , but it's very interesting
And the ghost hunters went into a place called the gentleman's club.
And they said they would never go back because they had the crap scared out of them

You can rent the top 3 floors and my friend a couple friends of mine. And I , we do this every year last year we didn't

And we take some equipment and we spend the night up there. And we've had some freaky things happened.

But you should watch online , the episode of them going to virginia city , the gentleman's club that's the same place we spend the night
And of course , we don't sleep , we are walking all three floors

Well i would hope right where there at until morning no taking them out and playing with them no taking them out to clean them no taking them out to rest them

I'd go to Abaty Ystrad Fflur (Florida Abbey). It's a quiet place (monks had a vow of silence, which extends to their ghosts) so I can get a good night's sleep.

Plus there seem to be several places where I could lie down next to a wall and be protected from the wind at Florida Abbey, compared to Pennsylvania's ruins.

I wonder how many people will just read the question and not the details? 😎

Fflur is the old name for flowers, same as the French fleur (French is just welsh spelled wrong). probably borrowed from the Latin flores or flora. Later some English idiot trying to speak latin changed it to Florida. Fflur is also a common girls name.

I'll choose the Florida abbey as the grass looks lush and manicured, probably easier to find a comfy spot of earth to curl up on. Florida in the states? Oh hell no. You'll be drained by mosquitos

If there isn't a hotel nearby I won't be spending the night at any of these places, at any time of the year.

Camping doesn't appeal to me at the best of times, but especially not in Wales in November.

The weather would be inhospitable, freezing cold, with possible strong winds and snow, and most likely rain and hail.

If I was picking a place to visit during the daytime in summer, on a nice day, I would choose Florida Abbey because it's 11th century history.

William the first sorted out the people from Wales in 1070AD and built castles all over Wales, to make them conform to the English ways. The English language then took over from the Welsh language as the chosen language until recently, and now nobody knows what the sign posts means in Wales.

Not true. In 1070 the Norman were still largely suppressing the saxons. It took them another 300 years to put down the welsh and almost financially crippled them. The fact they needed over 600 castles to control a few sheep farmers says a lot. Until a few decades ago most welsh speakers knew very little English

Every state has dangerous areas. With Pennsylvania, both Philadelphia and Pittsburgh probably have some rough spots, although I’ve never been I know heroin is a bad problem out there. Florida can rough too. There’s probably parts of Jacksonville and Miami that you wanna avoid. But having said that, in any of those places, you can drive about 30-45 minutes and be in a very nice suburb neighborhood.
