The country side is nice. The hood sucks... I've been in both places at night and never really cared. I've walked around Opa-locka at night often enough throughout the 90s when the Miami metro was the murder capital of the nation. I even slept on a train platform once waiting for a ride north. No one fucked with me. When a big motherfucking confident White boy walks around in a Black ghetto they generally think you're undercover police anyway and steer clear. None the less, the hood is a fucking shit hole. There are dope fiends doing stupid shit on sidewalks, broken vials and needle around, bum piss and crack shits on walls, stank hoes trying to sell pussy, trash everywhere, drug trafficking, a lot of homelessness and crazies, people trying to get over on you talking bullshit and lies, no conveniences and they are often in or around industrial areas with a lot of air pollution and near airports and train tracks where there is a lot of noise. It's a miserable place to be.

What part of out in the country are we talking about? In the hood there is still some people around to help you. Out in the sticks, it's just you versus the bears and mountain lions, wolves too if you're up in the Rockies. You might not hear the mountain lion or wolf until it's too late. People in the hood are noisy. The worst part about being out in the middle of nowhere is if you run into some bad people. It's just you versus them and you better have them outgunned.
