Racoon city. The odds of a BOW being made is about 1 in 100,000 so aside the misfortune of being a protagonist, you wouldn't run into any of them.

Pack up early, hike through the forest during the daytime, avoid the few zombies around and keep moving, quick and quiet. If I encounter anything like the dogs, open fire. Unlike protagonists, I can carry more than 15 rounds on me, and I'm a better shot.

Crest the smaller end of the mountains and escape. Boom.
