A win for President Trump

its a good think. The SNAP benefits will be funded, the Air Traffic Controllers will be back in the job, the military will get paid and the rest of the loafers that work for the government will work towards their bloated pensions.

What is the deal? The only healthcare insurance for illegals was inside an ER room. You can't ask for papers from a dying person then throw them out on the sidewalk.
It's bad for yelp reviews and potential health hazards more costly then helping them in the first place.
AGAIN what is the deal?
@NaultD
The deal is a stopgap CR that reopens the government until late January with zero new money for ACA/Obamacare subsidies—the one thing Dems swore they’d never cave on.
• No immediate healthcare extension (only a future vote in December)
• SNAP funded through FY 2026 (humanitarian must-pass)
• Federal workers get jobs + back pay (Kaine’s 2019 law, not a new concession)
• Trump’s line held: no funding for “illegals”
Dems voted 14 times to keep the government closed unless ACA was extended now. Today 10+ crossed over and gave GOP the 60 votes anyway.
Schumer: “I’m voting no”
Sanders: “Policy & political disaster”
Jeffries: “We will fight this in the House”
That’s not a deal—that’s a surrender.
Republicans just ended the longest shutdown in history on their terms.
(And no, ERs still treat everyone—legal status never mattered for emergency care. That’s a red herring.)
@NaultD,
Dems: “We’ll shut down the government until ACA is saved!”
40 days later…
They blinked.
No new subsidies.
SNAP funded.
Feds back to work.
Trump’s red line held.
GOP just won the longest shutdown in history.
It’s not just a win for President Trump, it’s a win for the American people! 🇺🇸
It doesn't happen until it happens.
From only what your telling me as a hardcore leftist the democratic party is dog water and beyond salvation. I've been saying the same thing for a decade.
So Mamdani path of victory is the only path forward for any democratic leaning industrial. Obama care was just an insurance company bail out in a scooby doo ass villain disguise scheme and pan out all the same.
As it stands right now a universal health care system including illigal immigrants would save $400,000,000,000 in taxation then our current system right now.
Drumpf is talking about taking all of the money out of ACA and giving it directly to citizens to choose their own companies and coverage. We’ll see how that goes.
There’s also this:
www.congress.gov/.../584
Since you have repeatedly made the claim that there is no plan to provide medical care for illegal immigrants, there is proof of the bill that the democrats are fighting over. The ONLY issue addressed by this bill is healthcare for illegal immigrants. Therefore the ONLY reason democrats would oppose the bill is because they want to give more entitlements to illegal immigrants.
It's a good thing but I'm kinda worried their plan from the beginning was to use this to perform better in midterm elections because they know peoples capacity to think basically goes "the left 'won' the elections, there's more of them now, and then the shutdown ended... So it WAS the Republicans fault"
😂
In the end, it will be a bad thing unless they can get subsidies for health care into the final Big Bullshit Bill. They decided not to draw the final line here and today. I disagree, but I don't matter.
In the end, the GOP will fuck over the American people and there will be NO affordable health care until the Dems can get control of both houses after the mid-terms. This is what you voted for, USA. Stew in it.
It’s not secured yet. There was a test vote expected to pass. I think the real vote is tomorrow. The majority dems and a minority of republicans are still holding out. It’s by far not a certainty.
It passed the Senate. It just has to pass the House and then it’ll head to the President’s desk
As much as I like bipartisan cooperation, the democrats who claimed to stand for something and voted to reopen the government are spineless.
You’d rather the government stay shut down?
It was for a reason. Everyone knew what it was. All they got as a promise The Senate would vote on it. The likelihood they'll win the vote is slim to none. So that's not really any good. Even if it did pass in The Senate, Johnson is unlikely to bring it up in The House to vote on. And if Johnson did bring it up in The House and it passed, both of which is less likely than The Senate passing it, Trump will veto it. The whole point of The Democrats voting against the CR was because they wanted everyday Americans to afford insurance, because the issues of not having insurance affect everyone (I'll tell you in a separate response if you want to know how).
