VOTE BELOW! Yesterday, Trump wanted to deport everyone. Today, foreigners are awesome and Americans suck. Is it because Trump wants "illegals" to fork over $100,000 each for an H1-B visa to work here? I guess someone has to pay for his failing economy. President Donald Trump told Fox News in an interview that aired Tuesday night the United States doesn’t have talented workers to fill jobs needed domestically, defending the H1-B skilled worker visa program.  Pressed by Fox News’ Laura Ingraham on whether his administration would reduce H1-B visas over concerns it would depress wages for American workers, Trump told Ingraham, “I agree — but you also do have to bring in talent.” When the Fox host responded, “We have plenty of talented people here,” Trump replied, “No, you don’t, no you don’t … you don’t have certain talents, and people have to learn. You don’t understand. I worked with H1Bs for decades. What Trump is doing is brilliant. (Did that make you nauseous dear?). The H1Bs are a mix of cheap ass labor that undercuts American jobs and great minds that can help the country stay at the top of the global economy.

Many of the H1Bs are Indian offshore providers in IT. They will have the majority of their workers in India but need some in the US to coordinate things. A 70% to 30% split is deemed good but they aim for higher percentages offshore. But these onshore people aren’t brilliant. Neither are the development teams that they have onshore. But they are cheap and work more hours hence the draw from senior US IT leaders to keep them by insisting to the government that they are necessary and not replaceable by US workers… this is a lie and I told the government on a call as an expert years ago.

Trump knows that most are not required and they take US jobs. So he called the US Senior IT leaders bluff and said fine but since they are so important and not replaceable then $100,000 for a visa should be acceptable. Well, it’s not for the everyday Indian guy who is just cheap labor as that blows up the savings they would have had so now it changes the math and makes the US worker more attractive… like the girl at the party with the super cute butt, you might know something about that. So now the right people will get H1Bs as they are worth it and the rest is just noise for people who want cheap labor.

He is right, but it's important to realize that it's not an overall comment on American competency. There are several industries where few competent and trained Americans exist. One of those is the railroad industry. The rest of the world puts an emphasis on trains while the US is all about cars, planes and playing video games. Hence, many foreigners come to the US to work in the rail industry. Sure, there are Americans in the rail industry, but not enough to fill all the available jobs, so foreigners fulfill them, some temporarily on an H1B visa, some on a green card that leads to citizenship.

Americans aren't incompetent. There's huge numbers in Europe employed to do skilled jobs and in the past two years that number has rocketed.

Over the past few years on GAG I've seen countless posts dismissing education, rubbishing established science, and pushing conspiracy theories like antivac. Employers see what's going on and that makes them cautious about recruiting in certain locations.

Reality is its the libs who do the thinking jobs and the Mexicans who do the manual labour. MAGA men are in limbo unable to compete with either

No and who's fault is that, I seem to recall his majesty "defunding" colleges expecting federal funding. In what way does that help advance our work force. The government shut down was to much he said she said not enough actual leadership. Our president chose to sit on camera and whine about how it was anyone but his fault. Perhaps " fearless leader " should have spent less time negotiating peace treaties that won't bring peace to Gaza , and more time making the two party system a viable functioning entity.. and stop messing with nuclear diplomacy , he clearly doesn't grasp even the most basic fundamental" dont poke the bear" unless MAGA means make America glow again

This was such a dumb move. The US has a declining birth rate and needs a growing tax base. Nobody in their right mind is paying 100k for an H1B visa if it's cheaper and easier to outsource. This move means less taxpayers and makes it harder to fund social security and service debt.
