It seems like he does not have the same sway he had a year ago. Many people - including some MAGA types are getting tired of Trump and have realized that he is a habitual liar. He said no new wars but now we are still in the Ukraine , we are backing up Israel and their genocide against Gaza. He said America first but we are sending money to Israel , we sent 40 billion to Argentina. He said he was going to drain the swamp but he is only expanding it ; almost every person he has placed in positions of power were big time donners. Look at Musk and his team of teenaged dodges kids who went around firing federal workers and compromising classified material. Also , this whole Epstein thing does not bode well for Trump and the Republicans in general. The fact that they put off releasing the files for so long ( and I include Biden here too - hey he was president for 4 years and he could of released them at anytime) is suspicious as fuck. I think the following:

1) They were waiting for some kind of reassurance that Trump was never in the files in the first place or at the very least only in a way that would make him seem unlikely that he banged on underaged kids.

2) They were waiting for Trump's name to be redacted and also the names of other big doners.

3) They may have been threated with violence if they released them ( I think this is plausible. I mean come on , do you really think Epstein committed suicide?)

4) They see the writing on the wall and are very aware that Trump is losing popularity and they are like rats jumping from a sinking ship. Trump seems to be in the early stages of dementia. People talk in DC behind closed doors. I mean , do you really think that Biden's aides and his press secretary never noticed his mental decline? The midterms will be upon us in a year and they are worried about their own skins.

Donica Blewclintsky / Cankles McTacotits / Cheeto Jesus is a massive humiliation and liability for the next 12 months in the runup to a 2026 election. Republicans in the House and Senate are not suddenly growing a spine or a conscience. They didn't get any smarter overnight. They are doing what they've always done, checking which way the wind is blowing and shifting their loyalties accordingly. they will shift back to tRump without apology if it looks like there is political advantage in doing that at some point. These are the worst scum in government.

The President doesn't control Congress. In the United States of America we have a division of power between the three branches of government. They don't teach you that in China? Trump was the one that had Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell arrested in his first term. He assisted victims years before he even got into a position of power in government. Then he signed the bill to release the Epstein files after it passed through Congress. What he did is play morons like you with reverse psychology. He drove you to demand the release of the Epstein files, which is what he wanted all along. He wanted you Socialists to be the ones to demand it so that when it destroys your movement, that you have done it to yourselves.

@exitseven Neither of you understand what happened here... It's funny... Epstein is an intelligence operation. As a result the files in the Epstein case are sealed for national security purposes. Trump couldn't release them on his own if he wanted to without violating the espionage act. If he tried to declassify them on his own, then a judge would overrule him and they would stay sealed. If he just released them without approval he would go to jail as a spy that leaked intelligence information. So he baited Democrats to scream and shout from their soap boxes for their release so that congress would be pressured by Democrats to pass a bill through congress that the Epstein files have to be released. No that 2/3 of congress voted to release them, the judiciary has to follow the law and can no longer block the release after Trump signed the the bill into law. Trump just gave a masterclass in political manipulation. Since Democrats can't think for themselves and openly reject anything Trump wants to do, and demand Trump do everything he claims he doesn't want to do, he was able to play the Democrats like a fiddle by claiming he didn't have to release the Epstein files, that it was a waste of time. Bunch of pawns baited by a gambit.

yes and that is perfect timing now that the epstein redaction is done. they can serve trump by releasing them (all while he plays angry teenager) and serve their base finally to attempt to salvage their re-election. it should be clear to most people but i guess it isn't?

i don't think they need that. i saw today they are going to investigate the intelligence on the matter to see if they could justify the attack. i think the evidence will be either very damning or completely justifiable. it won't be inconclusive. trump would have to fall on his sword or give up national secrets that implicate the real actors. those real actors would see trump dead before that happened. i can definitely see another epstein suicide happening.
