About 10 to 15 % are bad and from what I've seen the past year there is plenty going on to weed them out and place that higher standard. I can't stand a cop who abuses power and thinks he can do whatever they want to.

Yeah, thin blue line. I have a few friends who are cops. That would change if I witnessed them being that almighty power that some take on. Using the badge a gun to just be a bully to get back at a smart-ass remark. I hate that. As a public servant, it goes with the job to be talked to in this way as nobody likes to get punished for breaking the law. They are to remain professional and properly conduct themselves.

On one hand, you have to fear for your life at times but only a small percentage can actually cope with this. The one where that woman was killed is a tragic deal. It shouldn't have happened. If you can surround a place the person of interest is not getting away. DON'T crash in and save an innocent person's life. One of my renters just finished reading that book about Brianna Taylor. Could have avoided it.

My thing is, innocent people, who posed no threat to a cop end up getting murdered. No excuse for a life to be lost over that. I think we should re-think a cops “fear for my safety” excuse. They shoot because they wanted to. They are criminals with badges

I try to approach the subject more neutrally. Not all are bad and there are life-threatening situations all the time. Cops get killed quite often. There are sorry cops and there are stupid procedures. The thing that gets me the most is that attitude some take on. As though they are better and above all us. That makes me physically ill.
