a variety of reasons are contributing to this - - - - -

A. "Instant communications" via smart phones and "social" media.
B. Letting people get away with increasing numbers and severity of crimes in the first place, essentially providing tacit "approval" to continue and worsen their deviant behavior.
C. Thinking that making more gun laws will solve the problem of people getting shot. Guns do not fire themselves, just as spoons and forks don't make people obese.
D. Reducing law enforcement funding. Then the victims complain about rising crime rates, after being some of the most vociferous about cutting the funding!
