People used to disgust me when I was young and angry. I tried to be so many different people to figure out who my people were and what felt right.

And after over 10 years of that I realized that everyone is kinda coming from the same place. It's our experiences and environment that are fucked up. Most people would do the same things as the people they think they hate if they were in the same situation.

Hating people ironically shows how underdeveloped your capacity for empathy is and sadly it's something which the worst, most powerful people in society villify.

They want you to see empathy as a childish weakness but empathy is actually a powerful tool to be honed. its the heart of human connection.

I believe in the good in humanity as a whole but I certainly do struggle with some people. I try to be open minded and understand others while looking for the similarities between us rather than focus on differences but yes, some days it is easier than others.

There are still good ones out there, and I’d rather not let a few bitter experiences shape how I see everyone.
