Have you been motivated to enhance your home security lately?

There have been numerous factors that has motivated to beef up my home security lately.

• We recently evicted a hostile tenant who rented the downstairs (our home is setup like a duplex)
• We have had "apartment cities"/mass apartment development in the area
• We are seeing a mass influx of out-of-staters/outsiders pooring in to our community
• I have been seeing sus-looking blacks and foreigners in nearby areas now, which used to be rare
• People are crazy now and there is a chance for civil unrest and societal collapse due to mass layoffs, economic insecurity, and scary AI developments
• There are many people who absolutely hate and despise me with some thinking I am a pedophile, even though I am happily married, have matured since, and remain a house hermit who stays inside most of the time.

I have had security cameras for a while now, but I have added extended strike plates for my deadbolts and strong flip locks to my doors. I purchased some security window film, and I am replacing hinges with security hinges for certain outswinging doors, even some interiorly.

Nope. I'm lucky to live in a safe, quiet, rural community. My house is at the top of a 4/10 mile long, winding, gravel driveway. There is no reason for any stranger to come up my driveway to see if I have anything worth stealing and take a chance on being confronted by dogs or guns. And they would have a hard time escaping quickly down my winding driveway before I called my neighbors.

My area used to be a quiet, semi-rural suburb of Knoxville. Now, like with a lot of small to mid-sized cities, growth has expanded rapidly outwards. I don't even recognize this place anymore, and it is becoming unbearable to be out on the roads.

No, there is no reason to. In the summer when it's warm I can go 2-3 months without even closing my door. I don't lock my car in the driveway either. I know some of my neighbors don't lock their houses.

If I felt the need to enhance my security, it just means I'm living in the wrong place.

A Long time ago, been upgraded. Too many people of struggle and triumph in our area, not neighborhood, but surrounding area.
Too many roving groups of 'teens'. You can hear their war drums rumble some nights the 'booooooms' emitting from within their paper plated Dodge sedans.
