That's a complicated question and not one I can do justice to after a shitty and long day at work.

I definitely think there's a lack of self-awareness. It's always easier to project your shortfalls on an evil world, than take ownership of them.

Obviously, there is a deep-seated hatred or fear that has been reinforced by society.

And there are legitimate grievances, too. Women are a lot weaker than men. Biologically speaking, they are vulnerable in some senses. Knowing a man can completely dominate you at his whim, and that there is not much you can do about it, is obviously not a nice feeling.

And sadly, there is a fair share of scummy men. Some of the issues are more boundary issues and self-esteem issues from the woman. She's made poor choices owing to those issues, and then, due to her trauma, believes all men are that way.

There's a Canadian band who clearly hate men. I was watching one of their posts on instagram and it was interesting to psychoanalyse. She is dressed up as some kind of tomboy. A woman who has rejected her own femininity, is also interesting. Maybe it's a form of self protection. Maybe she has suffered physical or sexual abuse?

It's a funny issue really isn't it? This is sadly not something you could have an open discussion with her about. She would not be ready for this. There's an element of denial, and of course, reinforcement from those around her, her 'allies'. Her tribe.

All we can say is at a deeper level, society has some rather profound wounds.

Most feminists do not hate men. And, don't forget, a lot of feminists ARE men.

But there is a non-trivial segment of female feminists who are upset with "The Patriarchy" and everything with a penis is a mortal enemy.

Several reasons.

1. They believe their mother's lies about their fathers. (Not everything is a Man's fault)

2. They refuse to listen to/forgive their fathers (Men are not perfect)

3. Inability or no desire to self reflect (accountability)
