In the differences between misandry and feminism. Feminism is about equal rights, Misandry on the other hand is basically misogyny, but hatred against men. So why do some people (mainly straight women) call themselves feminist, if they hate men?
Beginning in high school, when I was 16, I began to learn about issues from my peers and through reading. Alongside the civil rights movement was "women's lib" (the ongoing women's liberation movement). I supported it and still do. It seemed only fair for women to have equal rights and opportunities as men.
But the struggle provided an opportunity for loud, bitter misandrists to speak out. They don't represent most women by a long shot, though. They just get all the publicity.
Men who think women are inferior and resent their aspirations to independence use the high profile misandrist feminist activists as an excuse to denigrate the entire women's liberation movement. They see women's empowerment as a zero sum game that disempowers men. They feel emasculated by the inability to dominate women in relationships and all other aspects of life. They blame their lack of success with women, not on their own attitudes and inadequacies, but on "feminism". But they won't "settle" for an average girl-next door who is pretty and has a nice personality because their own personalities suck and their values are shallow. What they want is a gorgeous, young, virgin Stepford Wife, and it is feminism that stands in the way of their fantasies.
I wouldn't associate with a woman who resented and hated men. But all the women I've known, including girlfriends and my wife, were feminine, smart, fun, had jobs or careers, supported themselves, AND loved men. They weren't in a competition and neither were they looking for financial dependence/support.
They had traditional attitudes toward men, aside from the absurd notion of abstaining from sex until they were married and having no interests or aspirations other than cooking, cleaning, and being financially dependent. They benefited from women's lib ("feminism") but weren't bitter or misandrist.
I think the average women supports women's rights while also having a normal appreciation for men. They admire men's size, strength and other attributes. They love sex. They want to be in a relationship in which they are respected and valued for something more than merely serving a man.
I, personally, like women who are smart, plucky, and not door mats. I'm happy to have an equal partner/team member to discuss things with, listen to, share thoughts and advice, make mutual decisions, work together, and have equal respect and admiration. We want each other to be happy and fulfilled, and we want to build a future together.
We chose each other for those qualities.
In that sense, women's liberation ("feminism") benefits both men and women.

Because they're Feminists. That movement isn't about "equal rights", and it never has been- there's nothing in the modern vitrol-and-hate-filled version that wasn't present at Seneca Falls. At its best, Feminism is about the rights and social position of women, with no regard to the other gender- but that's become increasingly rare as the years have worn on.
If Feminism was about equal rights, you'd have women pushing for equality on issues like reproductive rights (Shane Seyer says hello!), genital integrity rights (Dr. Nagarwalla says hello!), anti-discrimination rights, anti-slavery rights, and family law reform. Marc Angelucci and Earl Silverman say... nothing, since they're both dead.
They're not- they're complaining in Russia that the female retirement age has been raised to match the male, calling it "discrimination against women". They're complaining in South Korea that male battle thralls are allowed to use technical courses they took during the time of their slavery for college credit, calling it "an unfair advantage". They're complaining here in the US about Roe V Wade being overturned, saying "the government has no right to say what I can and can't do with my body" (which is exactly what the Supreme Court said) and "men have no government officials telling THEM what to do with their bodies!" even as a full third of the states won't even let you get a driver's license without submitting to the surrender of your thirteenth Amendment rights. They're also saying things like "Women have always been the primary victims of war. Women lose their husbands, their fathers, their sons in combat.". They're complaining that men accused of sexual assault are given basic due process rights. They're staging mass protests when Warren Farrell is allowed to speak on college campuses.
Peter Boghossian wrote twenty "scientific" papers and submitted them to academic journals- seven were accepted, and four published- consisting of literal passages from Mein Kampf with find-and-replace turning "Jews" into "men" and "Aryans" into women.
Valerie Solanas shot Andy Warhol for no damn reason, besides him being male and present and hey, she HAD a gun. I don't blame the movement for that; any group that gets large enough is going to have its share of crazies. I DO blame the movement for heaping praise upon her for her actions.
It's a hate movement, pure and simple. Those who openly hate men are just honest about it. Those who don't... well, I get that you care about the cause of women, but why tie yourself to something so awful? It's like someone who's genuinely worried about the future of white people, and nothing more, tying themselves to the KKK.

Check out the thread. Did I say anything to disparage men as a whole? Or just the trolls who then tried to silence me through bullying and intimidation? And then those very trolls took it as a call to arms and attempt to "put me in my place."
The GaG higher-ups need to take this kind of hostile beating into submission seriously because it is misogynistic ABUSE pure and simple. They won't do anything because these two have harassed so many women that they slip through the loopholes and cracks because they're blocked by everyone and won't say enough in a single post to break the rules (yet taken as a whole, it is clear to see what they are doing).
These are the TYPES of men I hate (and certainly give men a bad name), but I do not hate men. Quite the opposite. But some painfully insecure babydicks can't stand the thought of a woman as their equal and see feminism as a bad thing or as an insult. (As you can see in the thread where they are attempting to belittle me by calling me a feminist?)
I do not hate men. I hate trolls—whatever their gender.
I think sometimes misandry has been labeled as feminism by different groups, mainly online groups it seems. So now the terms are often used interchangeably.

Yes. And in return they are probably the most quoted by those trying to hate on femimism and thus hurt feminism the most. Fucked up situation.
Feminism is as feminism does. Those feminists that hate men, and many do, are feminists behaving badly, but they are feminists. Trying to say they are not feminists is just scapgoating them so feminsist don't have to address the real problems in tehir ranks.
Because they all listen to the same angry people and band together in hating men for no real reason. It’s literally follow the leader type stuff. They all say the same exact thing like minions. I think they are being mind controlled
Because they don’t hate all men. However they dislike men who abuse others
