That symbol has been used by the people of the South Pacific for eons. It was adopted by the NAZI party. starting in the late 1920s, early 30s. The swastika is also known as the twisted cross. But most Democrats would not know that!

Some Asian countries still use swastikas as good luck signs. As a sign it's not a symbol of hate. Most western countries see it as a Nazi sign, and while it was used by the Nazis it wasn't created by them. In the western world, it's a sign of hate, but not in Asia.
