It's sadistic child abuse. Any doctor who does this surgery should be in prison.
If they are confused about whether they are male or female, they should get therapy not drugs and surgery that could destroy their entire future because some lunatics can't handle reality. It is a mental disorder and needs to be treated as such.

They should have always been banned. kids aren't smart or knowledgeable enough at that age to know what they are agreeing to or what the repercussions of those choices are at that age. On top of that their brains aren't fully developed and they are incredibly impressionable.
To put a child through that to mutilate their bodies and turn them into a circus act and an outcast like that it's cruel and child abuse. And anyone who puts a child through that should be imprisoned.
No matter how you try to twist it it's not right, it's not ok and it's immoral and cruel.

6 moYES! If you're an adult and know what you are doing, okay it's your decision but leave the kids out of this.
My little sister had a good friend in kindergarten and once I picked her up at his house and talked to the mom, she was talking about that he is her first child and that she wanted a girl... well 5 years later and that just 10 year old kid is an outcast running around in princess dresses and insisting on being a girl. Nobody can convince me that a little kid knows about stuff like that.30 Reply Absolutely
Children can't make life altering decisions and parents should only make these decisions if life threatening to not do so.
A very basic comparison could be tattoos. Imagine what sort of tattoo you might choose to have at age 10. Or 15? Do you think at 25 or 30 your regret it? I think most people would or do. Some might not. But it's too risky. If you want a tattoo of a particular thing at ten, still want it at 15 and still want it at 20 then I'd say ok. I think it's safe to go ahead now!
22 Reply- 6 mo
@razor97 it was a comparison about choice and knowing what you want at age 10 compared to 20 or 30.
I used tattoos cos at 15-19 I really wanted a Chinese tattoo but I know in hindsight that would have been terrible. I got my first tattoo early 20's and I had a few tattoos last year despite being in my 40's but I always think very carefully about what I want.
But this isn't directly about tattoos. Just thought it matched about choice and regret over something not easily reversed.
6 mo1000% Kids brains aren't fully developed making them very impressionable and their interest to change over time. if they grow up and decide they still want to transition as an adult, then leave them be as their an adult who is finally capable of making their own decision. Children go through many phases as they grow up, one fine example is tomboys who grow up to become girly girls. Few months back watch a clip of a women talking about being a tomboy as a kid and how if she was a tomboy today she'd be pushed to transition into becoming a boy.

6 moi forget where i read this, but this was happening in america. doctors were snipping off the penis of newborn boys. they would later claim it was by accident, but it was very intentional. i wonder how many of those male babies grew up into this trans movement? because this was never normal.

u 7 moThere are more cis gender affirming surgeries for children than there are for trans kids. Hormone blockers are fine for teens who are under therapist care. I dont think they should be taking hormones themselves until they are older but that holds true for cis kids as well.

Breast reduction surgeries for males with gynecomastia and breast augmentation for teen girls. Both of which absolutely do happen more often than you think.
- 6 mo
You are absolutely right! One of my close friends had gynecomastia and required surgery.
Anonymous(36-45)6 moEven if I don't understand it, I know there are children out there under 18 that absolutely know in their heart of hearts they are in the wrong bodies and that feeling for them won't change in any therapy, but if I were a parent, I just could not see approving it if it were legal, for them to start these drugs and surgeries unless like other surgeries, they were a requirement for their health or it was a life threatening situation. This is a life altering decision about their own bodies that needs to be taken very seriously as some of it can be irreversible. That choice is their own when they become 18 and can sign their own paperwork and are fully able to understand that they are the ones fully making that decision on their own.
00 ReplyI think it should be banned for children. These are big decisions, and to make the right big decision, it requires experience, self knowledge and some maturity. I don't think a child is equipped for a life altering decision like this. At least wait until they are old enough to drink and vote. I still didn't know anything at that age, but at least you're done your basic education by then.

7 moYes. Never understood why it was ever allowed in the first place. Only sickos want to mutilate people rather than teach them to be comfortable with their own biology.
21 Reply- 6 mo
I don't know what should be legal for children or not but as for adults, gender affirming care is the first line in treatment it is not what your making it out to be.
7 moYes any one who believes that transgender drugs and surgeries should be legal should be considered a sex offender and be put away
31 Reply- 6 mo
Anyone who believes they should be legal, even for adults? That's completely nonsensical. Wth.
I’d say leave it to their doctor. There are intersex children that need hormones and surgeries, and there are severely dysphoric older teens that need the procedure to save their lives. And believe it or not it’s extremely difficult and rare for minors to be approved for surgeries.
00 Reply937 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It feels like we’ve been having this same discussion forever now
Absolutely they should be banned
I would in fact vote for the public execution of the doctors that push children in that direction
Luckily it seems these days it’s less and less of a trend

6 moNo. But they shouldn't be prescribed without an investigation by at least 2 different qualified doctors or panels. The kid should be questioned over several years and his teachers, parents, football coach etc all interviewed. Any suggestion anyone's pushing an agenda then phone the police

"But they shouldn't be prescribed without an investigation by at least 2 different qualified doctors or panels. "
Any doctor who would mutilate a child like this is automatically *DIS*qualified as a doctor if you ask me. And if they actually do it, they should not only lose their license to practice medicine but be put in prison for child abuse.

6 moIt's not something government should get involved in, but parents should be educated about a youth's development and when a young person is physically and mentally capable of making decisions for themselves.
It's sad when parents make a decision to physically alter their child, and then later in life the child regrets it.
00 Reply What should be banned, is hormone replacement therapy for those who don't properly need it. There's this emerging business of testosterone programmes being advertised to everyone, though I assume incels are their actual market
Same applies to plastic surgery as well.00 Reply2.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Absolutely, it's child abuse. Kids don't know what the hell they want or what the hell they are thinking. They can make stupid life decisions like that after they become an adult and not when under the influence of some liberal lunatic parents
20 Reply- 824 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
6 moAbsolutely banned, yes. How was this all even allowed to happen in the first place? Disgusting.
10 Reply Yes... childhood is too early, they're still questioning basic life problems until 20s... no way should even reversible surgeries be offered to minors, and that's not withstanding emotional baggage
20 Reply1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I think it is something for the kid and his/her parents to discuss with a health professional and also thee should be some type of waiting period. But life is short and people should be happy with what they want to be. I know many will disagree with that statement. But it is their body and their choice.
011 Reply- 6 mo
People seem to be under the impression that a person can simply transition over the weekend. It’s simply not the reality. People can hold whatever nonsensical beliefs they want about trans people, the fact is they exist. There exists information from reputable medical sources about the process of transitioning. It’s about a person living their life authentically and happily.

I have no problem with an adult calling themselves or imagining themselves to be anything they want or doing anything they want to their own body. Where I draw the line though is:
1) Surgically altering a minor child's body or giving them drugs for the purpose of making them appear to be the opposite gender. No adult has the right to do that to a child. It's child abuse.
2) Trying to force me to go along with the fantasy that a transgender person is a different gender than the one they were born. Males are males and females are females. Those are the two genders and it is biologically impossible to change your gender. When you try to characterize stating truth and reality as "hate speech," that's where I draw the line. Have any fantasy you want. But don't try to tell me I have to engage in it with you. - 6 mo

@HowlPenDragon It has been reported by a doctor, I was listening too, that you lose some of your life in the transition because it is hard on your body.

yes, it's true. you lose half of your life. the life you could have spent as the biological gender you were born.
