Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene launched her new "Protect Children's Innocence Act" on Friday which details that anyone who "knowingly performs any gender-affirming care on a minor" is guilty of a class C felony, carrying a punishment of 10 to 25 years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000, per a statement given by Greene's office.

In addition to pressing a criminalizing thumb on those providing gender-affirming care to trans youth, the new Act also looks to "prohibit using federal funds for gender-affirming health care, including in Affordable Healthcare Act plans and bar colleges and universities from offering instruction on gender-affirming care."

If Greene is behind it, something's gotta be wrong. You can't have it both ways, MTG. If you preach that parents are the responsible caregivers and should make decisions for their kids, and NOT the state or feds, then you can't impose your will on them for decisions you don't like.

This is also a solution looking for a problem. The number of kids this might affect is miniscule, and like it or not, that's what the Republicans blast the Dems for doing!!! Uh huh. Kids do not have the maturity to make these kinds of life altering decisions. They are impressionable and the part of their brains that control good decision making are not fully developed yet. @Sabretooth I agree with that. Most protests tend to start with positive intention. Eventually some group of radicals join and wreck everything. That's totally true. I've seen it plenty of times. It happens on the left and on the right. Groups like BLM, Antifa, Proud Boys, and others come in (or out) and change the narrative. And depending in what source you use to read or watch about it will give you different stories. One of the most interesting quotes I remember hearing somewhere is that people who are strongly biased to the left or the right live in two different worlds. They are stuck in echo chambers and only see one side of everything. You got people who think Trump is the greatest president to ever live and you got people who see Trump as Hitler 2.0 because they see the world from opposing points of view. I found that pretty interesting. Fortunately, only a small fraction of the population is like that.
