Depends. I see games just as an problem when a person doesn't do any thing else then gaming while their free time. Human mind needs different stimuli not just gaming that follow mostly very simple rules. That's why those gamer neglect development of their personalities and often neglect their home and themselves. This is the reason why they find especially much favor as partner option.

It's a hobby as much as any other. Watching the game vs playing the game is not that different but as I say that it's not easy to multi task. Which is an important distinction. Very lightly cleaning between commercial breaks or the smallest breaking the couch potato seal doing anything else like cleaning yourself is better then a good gaming session that needs a level of focus.

Good parents can be gamers but it's only feasible if the kids are sleeping.

Cards, chess, checkers, board games or computer games.
