Why do men have shorter life expectancies?

Men live 5 years less than women worldwide. What do you think is the reason for this?

Depending on the type of man he is he works hard sometimes as if he is 2 men he take pride in the things he does he builds his name yo be the best. And that type of guy plays hard to. Never thinking about how bad he is beating up his body. He never has learned the word stop. There is no word in his vocabulary, like that\nNo matter what he does in life, he will keep going. There is no stopping him..

He will take that pain and keep taking the pain. And then one day , he can't move . but it still doesn't stop him sometimes something happens and he has to stop but when that happen it's only until he gets a second wind

Sometimes in that down time they\nLook at what they have and they say, okay, I can't keep doing this. It's time to change careers. It's time to change my ways , and hopefully they stop in the nick of time to protect themselves and they can live a little bit longer but even then, there are still going to be moments where they just don't stop. They never learned how to do that in life. They have one speed and 1 speed. they work hard harder than most men. And and can still out work men 1/2 there age. If you can find a man like this they are the best men for relationships , but you have to be able to stop him before he gets two far gone

Our immune system is not as robust. Women need a good one due to the biological role of having babies.

Hunting has always been a risky business. Guess who gets bitten most often by snakes in Australia? Australian aborigines. You might think that with 60,000 years of cohabitation with venomous snakes it would lead them to intuitively avoid snakes but no.

Supposedly they had techniques to deal with snake bites but it had to be fatal most of the time. The death rate for men was pretty high in the tribal days. So there wasn't much evolution advantage for a better immune system for men.

But there was evolutionary advantage for women to survive child birth better and be able to nurse her babies..

Taller and heavier bodies > higher metabolism > higher load for cardiovascular system > shorter lifespan statistically. Even though some short and thin men are living 90 and more very often, tall and muscular men rarely.

They engage in riskier behaviors. They also don’t take as much care of themselves. Many of them won’t go to the doctor or take medicine.

Guys often take on more dangerous aspects of life. More dangerous jobs. More dangerous hobbies. Overall placed in conditions less conducive to living than what the average woman has to deal with.

Could also be genetics.

Indeed I heard and read that women seem to have a longer life expectancy. Honestly I don't give a damn, and I accept was will happen in that field with me. By the way, what's the point to wish and live as long as possible? Today is today, and tomorrow is another day.

Men are the human species' experimental test carrier. Most experiments are a negative effect.
Women are the baseline, the stable genome.

Basically evolution created a datum so it could make lots of measurements without accumulating tolerance errors.

What you call strong in men "testosterone" are the reason on why he has a shorter lifespan, everything has it's positive and negative side!

probably worse diet, more drinking and smoking.
But on the plus side now women are starting to catch up to men in that category

stress we get from women, work and society in general. plus the diseases that kill us dont get as much funding or even the awareness that the ones that kill women do
