I don’t know a lot about Jamaica, but i think i can wager some intelligent guesses. Highly impoverished people commit crimes of necessity. I believe they also have gang problems there. Finally, i’m guessing that their crime punishment system there is on par with the US. How am i doing?
China may not allow their common people great wealth, but most of them have the basics, as long as they’re good boys and girls. Something else China does well, strict enforcement of law and order. If you’re not a good boy or girl, you will go to prison or be executed. For my money, that’s one of the bigger problems with the prison system in the US, where crimes of necessity are not really a thing anymore. So what if you go to prison? Three hots and a cot, a gym, cable, library, infirmary, games, and thousands of new friends. What’s the downside? No job? Most of them didn’t have jobs on the outside! Prison is just a long term involuntary stay in a cheap hotel. It’s not bad enough to deter criminals of privilege and it’s not good enough to reform them.
It’s almost like stopping crime isn’t the goal. 🧐🤫

What the fuck are you talking about. China has about the strictest gun laws in the world and they have worked damn well. Asian countries all have very strict gun laws and have the lowest homicide rates in the world. It's only white majority countries that are pro gun and white people commit almost all the mass shootings and terrorist attacks. White people are much more likely to get away with crimes and murders they are guilty of and people of color especially black people are much more likely to get convicted of crimes and murders there innocent of because of all the racism against black people and white privilege.

It probably has a lot to do with enforcement. In Haiti there is not much enforcement of , much like in out democrat run cities. In China thy may have the death penalty for gun violations. The punishment is both a deterrent and prevention of recidivism.

The most dangerous city in Jamaica is Kingston and when I went to Jamaica with my Caribbean buddies, they wouldn't take me anywhere near there. Kingston is Jamaica's most dangerous city and is the 24th most dangerous city in the world. Memphis TN is the 25th most dangerous city in the world.
