I was taught in Middle School and High School that President can deploy and move the troops however needs Congress approval to declare war.
I feel as though missile striking a nation in multiple areas, blowing up vessels, and doing so without Congress permission for those classified as “acts of war” goes against The Founders wishes.
There is a reason why America gets pulled in 1) US Maine allegedly blows up 2) Lusitania + Zimmerman Telegram informed from Mexico to be planned by Germany 3) Japanese Forces Launch Pearl Harbor Attack + Nazi Germany Declaring War On US.
Because public perception and rising tensions including full on attacks on our military infrastructure is an act of war and worth fighting for the American cause.
This was not justified other than for Big Oil.
(I’ll put my reasonings in the reply box below since I don’t remember all them on top of my head however wrote them in earlier post)
Trump is doing this for our oil interests and the illusion of energy independence.
If you follow the news, it makes total sense from the standpoint of Chevron, PDVSA (Petroleos de Venezuela, S. A.). Follow the clues and get the real story.
The White House as of July 2025 gave Chevron the okay to resume their oil production in the nation of Venezuela according to POLITICO Pro.
PDVSA blamed a recent cyberattack on The United States of America after coincidentally Donald Trump pridefully boasting about seizing an oil tanker according to The Record and the same Venezuelan company that suffered cyberattacks, forced their tankers to u turn amid rising tensions with our country according to Reuters.
Reuters has reported, “Venezuela’s oil facilities unscathed in US strike, sources say”
And it’s no surprise US Company, General Atomics is selling American military weaponry across the world, so what hand do they play in America’s military onslaught? It demonstrates the capabilities and usefulness, which makes for great advertising for those looking to buy deadly weaponry. GA struck a $2 billion deal with Qatar according to San Diego Business Journal back in May of 2025 along with reports of the deal being published by Defense News as early as March 2025.
The headlines, following the money and connections spell out the true intentions.
This system has always been broken and Donald J Trump benefits from it personally.
Citgo Petroleum provided cash to Trump’s Inauguration back in 2017 according to BBC at the time.
Yes I am. I don't think the press actually starts any worse, but the job of the press is to report on the government's activities and all of them. Not just the ones that goverent would prefer we pay attention to but also the ones that the government wishes we would just simply ignore. Most recently that would be its continuous violations of the law and the Constitution. They wish we would just ignore these things but thanks to the press they come to our attention. That is the actual constitutional function of the press in the US.
Nam wasn't a war. It was deploying troops to support a US ally as promised.
@msc545 yes the Democrats made a bad decision

it doesn't matter if I approve it or not... they will do it anyway
Trump did it...
Biden did it...
Obama did it...
they all "start wars" without the Congress authorization, so... why would I bother to approve or condemn
no
but nearly every admin has done incurisions and short term.
That said, if govt puts out a bounty, whom is to enforce it? Trump put $10m reward to get him, Biden upped it to $25 million... probably due to massive inflation. Trump then spent who know show much in life and property to get him... but probably avoided a full scale invasion which cost trillions.
should have congress approval, but seems to me if they approved paying that, they already approved.
No. I believe Congress must at least be consulted when a President declares war.
as long as the president gets a cut he's in. the local grocery store could bribe him into a war if it serves his bank account.
you should be scared. these are about to be dangerous times.
I think it’s cool that tRump just set the precedent for the White House to be assaulted and Cankles McTacotits to be abducted and held in a foreign country.
Imagine if President Trump gave Congress a heads up on what was going on? Some Trump hating democrats would have leaked it to the NY Times and got everyone killed
I'm for other governments coming to Mar-A-Lago or the DC and ridding the country of the worst plague it's seen since Reagan. Oops, just kidding. That would be violating another country's sovereignty. Lost my head, what was I thinking?
Only war if attacked first. Pre aggression wars are not legal. And Congress are pussies for not saying no or doing anything.
where is this war everyone keeps speaking of?
Aside from Joey, when did that happen?
