Most Americans ask bullshit questions like"how are you to strangers," when most of them don't give a you know what how the other person is doing and people that they aren't close to. If the other person says they are not good , than the other person would get annoyed, etc. Most Europeans, etc. handle the truth and when they ask how you are doing, they mean it. Same with most Americans can't handle how most other Americans that they know don't care about them, they melt when they know. If you tell a Russian that someone doesn't care about them, they dgaf.

Why are you comparing compassion to emotional suppression and calling it “toughness”?
Saying things that you mean isn't cruel. When asking how you are doing by a Russian, etc they mean it. Most of the time when strangers in America ask that, they don't mean it. Also Americans aren't blunt. Other cultures are. They aren't fake.
