If it paid okay I wouldn't mind carrying a sign a for few hours during warmer weather. But I wouldn't do it during a Minnesota winter or anything too political. On the Signal App they were told not to bring guns to the Minneapolis protest, but I'm thinking more about save the whales or global warming stuff.

No. Public demonstrations are meant to raise awareness for meaningful causes that actually affect people. Deliberately obfuscating the relevance and popularity of a cause by hiring “protesters” is crooked as f*ck. If it doesn’t make you wonder why someone would invest in protesting and immediately make you rethink the “cause”, then you’re choosing ignorance. I saw where a reporter was asking the people if they had jobs and they said that protesting was their job. And I did see an interview with the owner of the company listed above. The owner of the company even admitted that he didn't agree with most of the protests he himself arranged.
yeah that's why now i understand why some of them refered to protesting as "doing this work". i was always thinking: this isn't work, it's not a job. apparently it actually is. you never stop learning new things i guess. but i'm sure it can't be a stable income sort of situation.

I would volunteer to counter support the people they are protesting against... whom generally are innocent and doing their jobs.

No, because it defeats the point of a protest and goes against it. Paid protest is no different than fox "news" (literally, it leagally can't be considered news because they lie too much) who spreads lies, instead of truth.
