Why do many people get mad at you if you do not agree with their opinion, generally speaking?

Tribalism is off the charts, fostering an attitude of “If you’re not with me then you’re against me”.
It doesn’t help that most people suck at expressing a difference of opinion without suggesting that differing opinions are wrong.
Less tribalism and better communication would go a long way.
