Trending & News The United States of America should focus on solving its own domestic issues, rather than default to going imperialistic, cruel, barbaric on the world stage.
People talk about wanting to acquire Greenland or Venezuela, raising tariffs, threatening world leaders or leaders who bang on their chest, sending ICE to intimidate natural born and immigrants whatever else you can name.
While the majority long for healthcare to be affordable and accessible, cost of groceries to go down so, it isn’t a game of sacrificing retirement funds and college accounts to pay for their meals in the present, and the ability to afford adequate housing to raise a family, a fair livable wage that is more than cost of living to afford a nice sizable family too.
Yes, it should remain independent.
More importantly, is whatever this country chooses to do in the future, it should start with helping the American public and their domestic struggles.
Another issue I have is the faulty two party system that is funded by the wealthy elites.
We don’t get agenda done for the well being of the people, we get an agenda done for those looking for corporal subsidies, rich welfare, and radicalized tax reductions.
We are faced with socialism for the rich, capitalism for everyone else.
There would be no upside for the US to import 3rd word countries.
Agreed
We don't want to be part of you guys down south.

You say that as if it's a serious question as to the ongoing status of the United States as a sovereign nation not directly subjugated by a foreign power
It was a question at one point whether our country would stay independent, or go back to being under British rule, that ship sailed and the country became by far the most powerful one in the world despite a civil war tearing it apart.
The US should stay independent, will stay independent, and God willing, it stays one nation and doesn't allow itself to be cut in two again. To suggest even the idea that the US should lose it's sovereignty, you should know people will consider those fighting words.
We've progressed far and become a more peaceful species compared to the middle ages and earlier, let's keep moving towards peace. I've read too many war stories, imagined myself too many times, having to constantly tell the people I care about to pack their things cause the place is unsafe due to military activity.
Learn from history, don't repeat it🇺🇸
Remain sovereign. Take Canada, though. Who's their Prime Minister again? I've heard Turdeau is out, but I don't think whoever came next is any better if they confront President Donald Trump over Greenland. The only one who should confront President Donald Trump over Greenland is the US citizens, aware of what will happen if the USA takes Greenland and then ends up in Demo (n) crat clutches again.
It might be interesting for all the countries in the Americas (North, Central, South America) to form a coalition like they've done in Europe, with a mostly common currency, the Euro) and reduced passport controls (the Schengen area), though I suspect if that were to happen, the US would maintain its own border controls, similar to what the UK does.
But each country should retain its sovereignty.
@Snowman84 Some Canadians would like to join the US. The Western provinces in particular are upset with how Ottawa (Canada's capital in the east) takes their taxes and resources and gives little in return. The people of Alberta have already passed a referendum indicating that they would like to become a US state. Manitoba and Saskatchewan have similar activities going on.
Of course, Democrats in the US don't like the idea of parts of Canada joining the US because they would most likely be conservative red states.
A few Morons from the Province of Alberta doesn’t make up western Canada. BC, Saskatchewan, Yukon, NWT and NT are the other provinces and territories that make up the remainder of western Canada.
I live in Canada and I can assure you the hatred towards America is so thick it could be cut with a knife
@Snowman84 I'm betting you live in Ontario. Am I right?
@Snowman84 I used to work with a married couple (in Pittsburgh) from Winnipeg several years ago. Nice people. Liked to cross country ski.
Cool, but back to my previous answer outside a few people in mostly central Alberta who want to join the United States. I realize this is difficult to understand given you have been spoon fed American exceptionalism since the cradle. That’s not an insult it’s just a reality of American society. Canada isn’t third world, we’re not poor, we’re educated, we have a good safety net and we’re proud of our shared heritage. Joining the United States is completely stupid, I wish the far right ecosystem in America would stop stoking imperialism within the Republican base.
The opposite should be done and make the states more sovereign like they were meant to be. Bigger central government is never a good idea. It's already out of hand. Tripling the population and decentralizes it even more would be horrible.
I said independent but I would support taking on some of the Central American countries. Perhaps even Mexico. Think of all the beach properties. It would be the West coasts Florida for retirees. Lots of money for those locals.
We do not have a common culture or language. I could see the United States and Canada being in North American federation like russia. We have common language and culture.
The US will always be a sovereign nation regardless if they include the rest if the Americas into the US by purchase or force.
So your question doesn't make sense.
Sack in whatever you can.
Does it matter?
Not, as long China provides the crappy but cheap goods needed for extreme consumerism that keeps the "superpower" going until it collapses.
I'd make it one big land mass and country. It solves all the problems of hemisphere security, addresses the immigration issue... now all those illegals... are legal! It creates differences in wealth but that would even out some.
And it would cause mass anger throughout
probably.
The USA should include the Americas ala the European Union.
Always thought the USA should conquer Mexico and Canada
Nope
Mexico is basically just running by human trafficking cartels, and Canada lol what are you gonna do throw maple syrup at us
You don’t have enough problems already?
Maybe add Mexico and Canada, but that’s it.
We will just take the provinces that want to be taken. You can keep the rest please.
You’d be murdering Canadians trying to leave. You’re not too bright.
Grow the fuck up, loser. And stop harassing me with your childish bullshit.
Ask the nurse for more Thorazine and stop harassing me.
The Americas don't want to be part of the US.
The USA should include The Americas
