The Supremes saved the country today and the American consumer and Companies , ruling Trump's Tariffs were unlawful against other countries.

I wish it were that simple. There are still other work-arounds that the Mango Molester is going to try implementing. In the end, it probably won't matter. On the world market, countries have been seeking other buyers for goods for past 6 months. On the import level, US importers have slowed purchases due to less demand for higher priced goods.  No matter what gets ruled lawful or unlawful, it doesn't matter if the rulings are ignored and there's no one left to enforce the rulings. The time is rapidly coming when individuals being asked to carry out illegal or unlawful orders on the civil level, including soldiers or national guard, will have to personally decide if they can follow them.  The economy is deeply depressed in many parts of the country, no matter the goober says. Energy costs have risen so drastically for some areas that electricity and gas bills formerly totaling around $350 a month are now at $1,200 a month. The brutal cold weather is not helping either. Even if you wiped out all tariffs of any kind tomorrow, that's not anywhere near enough to make a difference to the economy as a whole. Meanwhile, here's some numbers to contemplate: * The ICE surge in Minnesota has cost taxpayers $280 million.  
 * Roughly 4,000 people have been detained, some of whom are US Citizens  
 * 30 of these detainees are accused of violent crimes. Again, 30 of them * The ICE surge in Minnesota has cost taxpayers $280 million.  
 * Roughly 4,000 people have been detained, some of whom are US Citizens

It certainly makes him look foolish internationally because it was his biggest threat against other countries and it has just been taken away from him. It won't save the economy because too much damage has been done and now the US trade policy has to be reset again. It will help keep inflation in check. Returning all the tariff revenue will add to the national debt but will help businesses. Imposing tariffs on every country without authority has to be one of the dumbest things a US President has ever done.

his trade wars (basically tariff games) have crushed farmers

jobs are drying up and there doesn't appear to be any signifcant turn around in sight

he's put corporations effectively in even greater control than they had before

it doesn't mean it can't be fixed but the supreme court effectively saying tariffs are not lawful doesn't mean the problems are fixed. the administration has to be honest with themselves and americans about the issues and address those issues, not just gaslight American's with buzz words, dog whistles and what not.

The Supremely Corrupted Court finally did something that wasn't complicit in tRump's treason. So what? The damage has been done. The rest of the world gets it now. The USA is a schizophrenic nation that changes personality every 4 years. We are no longer viewed by any other country as a stable, reliable military, economic, or political ally.

The conservative justices were split (3-3), and the Supreme Court ruled against Trump's usage of IEEPA to implement his tariffs, not necessarily the tariffs themselves. So Trump is just going to implement his tariffs under a different statute/law, like the following examples:

"Congress has passed laws allowing the President to impose tariffs or trade remedies in response to unfair trade practices, national security threats, or economic emergencies."

"Congress has delegated extensive authority to the President over several decades to adjust tariffs and manage trade, particularly under the Trade Act of 1974 and the Trade Expansion Act of 1962."

"Congress has passed laws, such as the Trade Act of 1974 (Sections 201 and 301), allowing the President to adjust tariffs to protect domestic industry or respond to unfair trade practices."

"National Security (Section 232): The Executive can impose tariffs on imports deemed a threat to national security, based on investigations by the Department of Commerce."

i live in Canada and these tariffs have been disruptive and unhelpful , not really sure what the ruling means here as it talks about the global tariffs not Canada mexico trade deal but hopefully the beginning of the end , republicans in congress and senate must know its over and time to move on from this

The SCOTUS ruling does not eliminate tariffs. Specific tariffs on specified goods from specified countries have been in effect for decades. Those tariffs remain. SCOTUS ruled that the additional tariffs imposed by Trump under an Emergency act are invalid. Now, Trump will continue to impose tariffs (10% at first, then 15%) using two other laws that allow the President to impose tariffs. Those laws require additional work, which will delay added tariffs, but they will probably be in effect within the year.

Initial reactions by businesses and the stock market are positive, but I wouldn't expect major changes. Once a company sets a price on a product, it rarely lowers it later.

This just reduces future tariffs to 15% and means that past illegal tariffs have to be paid back to companies making them basically a 170 billion interest free loan.

There's a 150 days limit yes so there will be at least two lower tariff days per year.
